did you take off your bumpers? cuz they dont sag...mine sags like 1 inch and its a 88. i want to take my front bumper just to install a teg lip and paint it since its turning white....what kind of primer did you use...i will sand it with 400 grit and then clean it with plastic/rubber cleaner then use paint promoter then shoot it with like bumper trim paint

I took off the front bumper after sanding, and shot it with the primer and paint. The rear bumper proved impossible to remove as one of the screws under the trunk lid would not move, so I sanded, primed and painted it on the car (I masked off around the bumper to protect from overspray).
I used 600 grit sandpaper and filling primer under a labeled bumper coating. So far no cracks, although someone has scratched my front bumper.
I guess I got lucky with my bumpers not sagging....particularly considering that the rear bumper retainers are mounted pretty much in nothing.....gotta fix that too.
Looks sorta like mine heh, but goot job, shesh $100 for a car like that.
I just wish I could nail down the idle issue....it's the most inconsistent thing I've ever encountered. When I come to a stop I never know if the car is going to die or if it's going to run up to 2500 rpms.....sometime it fluctuates between the two....it sucks. I'm working on finding replacements for the vacuum lines now....
btw, if you haven't taken your front bumper off before, be careful. It can be kind of a pain, and you could end up taking stuff off you don't have to. You should be able to get the cover off by removing the bolts underneath, and the screws under the hood on the back of the upper surface, then just slide it forward off the brackets. I made the mistake of removing those brackets on the side, which was uneccessary.Originally Posted by MessyHonda88dx

yup, the bumpers were the first step in doing exactly that....I'm planning to use a special winterizing coating for the trim down on mine since we have such nasty salty roads here. My old Audi 5000 had it and it looked great. It's basically a type of protective flat black coating, kind of feels like the bumper coating actually...
looks like you did a good work on the bumpers, got any pics on how the armrest looks like on ur car?
What kind of primer and paint did you use?
