going from carbed to fuel injected

    Hey guys,

im kind of a newb but i was looking at the how-to on going from Carbed to fuel injected. And while going throught the list of parts needed i see cabin wire harness, what would that be? My situation is this, i have 2 89 accords one is carbed the other is fuel-injected, now i am putting the complete engine from the fuel injected one and putting it in the carbed one. So will the how-to be similar to what I am doing?

yes... that's the easy way of saying it. I dont see why you'd switch out the whole motor. It was more satisfying ripping off the carb and throwing it accross the yard and bashing it many many many many times. Can't easily do that with the whole motor. Plus from what i understand you get a better set up with putting in the cams from the 89 lxi and the IM.

as for the rest of it yes you'll need to convert the tank and run that one fuel line. Which requires you to take apart everything inside the car. If you have ac get it drained before you start killing your cars. as for the wires you could take the time and isolate the wires for the ecu and just run those, but since you have everything out you might as well just replace it with the lxi wires. Just take your time and when it comes to the internal stuff...deffinatly label it with baggies. Those friggen skrews go are everywere!

i consider my self a fast worker and i had to do a little custom work to get mine to work, but it still took me about 21 hours to do.

well, if it's the same (as in coupe & coupe, etc.) just switch the body panels over. although it's probably about as easy as the efi swap. well, either one you choose, good luck.
