ground out function on a remote starter...

i bought this remote starter with a ground out feature. it will ground a system when it activates and will kill the ground after the car is shut off until the next time remote start is used again. would this be able to ground out my neutral safety switch?

to make this a more awkward question to answer, i actually put my own neutral safety switch in there with OEM parts(minus the relay), so its kinda hard to decide wether or not it will work properly like that

Yes it will, but you should use a relay to break or short the connection to your clutch... if that's what you're using it for.

how would i do that? i already ghetto rigged a neutral safety switch with a 30A relay, and i can make it positive trigger or negative trigger. how would an additional relay help?

What do you exactly want to do with it? You're trying to start the vehicle remotely, but the clutch needs to be pressed??

actually, that ground out feature on the remote starter was actually made for the neutral safety switch.

Another common use for it is for a by-pass module also. Anyways... under the dash and at the top of the clutch pedal you should find a small yellow plug. It will contain two wires in it.
Use the ground out with a standard bosh type relay, connect it to terminal 85, terminal 86 can be true ignition or constant 12volts.
Terminal 30 is one of the wires at that plug, and terminal 87 is the other wire.

When the remote starter turns on, it will energize the relay which in turn it will short those two wires and allow you to start the vehicle.

One issue though, I'm not 100% sure about the yellow plug. Have a look for it, or a different one at the clutch pedal. Unplug it and connect a jumper wire in it. If the vehicle starts with that jumper in place, then you know that's the right wiring to use.

    Good luck... hope that helps.

catalin, would you mind giving me some input here?:

My has a harness right above the clutch pedal, and it must have something with the remote start, because when I unplug it... the car wont start.

****Never mind... I figured it out!
