    cost of EFI conversion

    hey, im new on here and im doin a efi conversion for a friend and i wanted to know how much money he should front me to buy all the things i wil need for the conversion. i dont think i need a parts list just a rough guess on how much it would cost. its an automatic 1988 LX by the way, if that matters.

    Well, if you want it to be the cheapest possible, just buy a junked LX-i.
    I got mine for like 400 bucks back in 2000.
    If you buy the parts separately, it could come up to twice that easily.

    i'd do what carrot said just make sure it's stick . Just incase your friend is feeling like doin a 5spd swap too. that's what i did. i bought a lx 5spd and did the swap(i mean i did the 5spd swap not carb to efi). best of luck and HAVE A BLAST.

    yeah they were selling a LXI for 500 bucks and the guy said it would need a new motor. i was thinking of buying it and just puting my engine on it...plus you have to do lots of work to transfer it from one car to another...the LXI has the upgrades like the front breaks and bigger sway bars...plus its fuel injection...like spanky and carrot said just get a junked LXI or if you are lucky a SE-i.

    it cost me roughly around 350 bux to do mine. but getting a junked car would be much cheaper and u get more that what u need anyway.

    I did mine for about $350. $150 for the running parts car and another $200 for the new/re-manufactured distributor.
