    help for Iner&outer cv's

    my left side makes grinding noise. Is it posible it's the outer joint that is doing it & does it come apart to repair? the outer cover is all torn up and has lots of dirt in it the inner seames to be ok...

    if the boot is torn, you might as well replace it. Dust is going to get in there and mess up the bearing. Does the car make the grinding noise only when you turn, or is it all the time? If it's all the time, it could be your wheel bearing making the noise. Wheel bearings will usually "sing" at higher speeds before they start grinding though.

    If the CV joint is very contaminated by dirt, you may be better of simply replacing the axle. Honda does not list the outter joint as rebuildable. Some people have managed to get it to come apart for repairs, but most of the time you have to disassemble the inner joint to replace the boot. A rebuilt axle is relatively cheap and many have lifetime warranties as well. I'd look at that route if I were you. Hope this helps.
