    My '86 4-dr BA 5 project

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this car since all I've had are Civic's and CRX's, a Sentra, an Integra, Daytona Shelby Z, an SL-1 etc., you get the point lol. This is my first Accord...
    When i first got it:

The cam-cover was already red when I got it, but I'm going to sand-blast it soon and powdercoat it flat black.

Then I cleaned it up a lil bit, and put on my 17's:

I tossed the fog-lights and played with the turn-signals a bit (it only came with one corner and a busted bumper-signal)

Then I sold the 17's cuz I don't like the way the car looked with them on, I'm going for some 15's or 16's when I get around to it but for now it's my winter wheels.

Now I'm getting ready to repaint the outside of the car, the silver is all gonna be new silver after I replace the drvr side fender (if you can't tell in the pics, it's almost completely bondo that was like that when I got the car) and the black bumpers and trim are all gonna be new flat black. I've gotta replace the drvr side mirror and buy a new windshield as well as tend to a few car cancer issues around the trunk....but first a lil bit of fun with the car before I get all serious on it...

    It's me lol

I'll keep you updated on the progress of my BA, I just got new shocks and next comes tossing the clipped springs that are on there and getting some actual springs as well as a new STOCK exhaust.

Thats what I though lol, but my Vin's JHMBA5425GC031587...I can't wait to get this thing cleaned up cuz there's SO many loud ass 3g's runnin around, I just want a quiet one. I'm probably gonna buy a new-rebuilt stock A20 and tranny as well since they're so cheap and all.

Weird, BA5 is a 3rd gen Prelude chassis code... Does the VIN on the firewall say BA5 as well?

Hehehe, that would certainly be original.
Keep us posted on that car!

Of course I'm lazy. If I wanted to work on my car I'd have gotten a DSM

Lol, I've been toying with the idea of having a car covered in graffiti for an actual paint job, but I don't think this one came out well so I'm just gonna concentrate on restoration for awhile and save-up some money to re-do the suspention. This car needs some TLC for sure, it's the only car I've had issues installing a sterio in, not because of bad wiring but because there's something behind the center consol that makes it really hard to fit all the wires back there without one or two coming loose. I've been using cheap stuff to get it to work but I think I'm just gonna rip it out and either do it nice or not do it at all.

Mabey I'll sell my Cutlass and drop an H22 in the Accord haha.

Early 3G Accords do have a BA chassis code.

Look up autotrader and those with VIN's listed usually have a BA in it.

    Re: My '86 4-dr BA 5 project

So I moved the car today, it's pretty much loaded to the brim with stuff cuz I'm moving out of my mom's and getting my own place with my buddy finally, it took forever. Anyway it's the first time I've drove the car in over a month see'in as I haven't had car insurance for that long. And I discovered some issues...

    1) My radiator fan doesn't work, and in noticing this remembered that I've never gotten around to changing the coolant since I don't drive the car much

    2) There's oil leaking out of the cam-cover and in noticing this remembered that I've never changed the oil for the same reason stated above.

    3) My crack windshield is worse than I thought it was.

    4) I remembered that having a carburated car SUCKS since I haven't had one since my '90 Sentra hatch 3 years ago.

    5) This car's gonna cost hella money to get good and since I work at Dairy Queen it's gonna take alot of time as well. No biggie though, I'm getting a lil red moped for driving to work lol.

    Re: My '86 4-dr BA 5 project

Nah, I didn't drop it. The guy from Washington (another reason not to buy from people from Washington or from ppl on NWSR as well) clipped the springs and just kinda left it that way. It's fine as far as driveability it's just bumpy and annoying when I have a trunk full of tools. It'll take time but I kinda like this car. If I hadn't have destroyed the '88 Intregra in my backyard some people said I could've put the dash and CC in my Accord but it's all good I'm not cryin.
