BREMBO slotted rotors for our cars!

Yeah, i dunno if this is something to get excited over or if this is already known.. But Brembo makes slotted rotors for our cars.. They're on nopionline.com for 125$/pair for the front. Check it out:

I might get a pair eventually...
Alas, no more 3gee. She was a wonderful car and will be missed..

No more 92 hatch either! I go through cars too much.

It won't improve on the braking on a 3g much if at all, unless you regularly drive it at an auto-x course or you don't have any brake rotors at all and need replacements then i wouldn't bother with blowing money on slotted or drilled rotors when the ones you have already work just as good.

It depends on what kind of driving style you perform. If that is just stop and go in a city then you may not be able to feel the difference. Once I drove mountain highway with continuous 400R corner down hill @ about 80 to 100 miles/h. After half an hour, the brake pedal started to judder and I stopped at parking area to check the brake. The front genuine roters were orange in colour! It spoiled the day - I had to drive like pensioners. I am now using slot+drill roter on four corners + pads and so far I haven't experience anything like that - but if you go to racing circuit you may heat them up. I think, the brake upgrade should be proportional to the engine power out put. If I have a choice I would buy pads first then rotor but Brembo is great as far as I have heard.

Don't bother with it unless you've got the tires to back it up. Otherwise yo'll just slide all over the place.

Of course I'm lazy. If I wanted to work on my car I'd have gotten a DSM

Hi, thegreatdane! Yes, thats right. I wanted Brembo but I couldnt find whole set in UK at reasonable price so Black Diamond was my second choice. In UK Black Diamond rotor has very good reputaiton/reviews and it is indeed good rotor I can recommend. I am very happy with it. Only one thing new to me is that when you brake hard from high speed, you hear slight mechanical/grinding noise from the slot on the disk but I like the sound of it.

I 've always slotted my own. Right now im running regulars but I notice that when it rains that first application theres little braking until the brakes dry off where the slots were right there.

I would challange that the sweep area is not reduced %10 if that. I use a 1/8 ball end mill and run I think 7 slots at about 45 degress each. I just can't see that making that much differance.

Any one care to figure it?

There's just alot of stuff to buy if you're doing some kind or rough driving, just rotars won't do it but then niether will great pads. I think the tire suggestion was the best on here.

Re: BREMBO slotted rotors for our cars!

Are the front pads from a LXi sedan the same as the front pads from an LXi coupe? Both 89's? The reason I ask is because AEM lists pads for an 89 LXi sedan, but not a coupe. Also, are there any "performance" calipers for our cars?

I am in the process of purchasing 11" rotors and a bracket to fit Integra Type R calipers on the 88-89 LX-i hubs. The rotors and brakcet only cost $250.00, but the calipers are going to be a little pricey. This is all coming from fastbrakes.com

Re: BREMBO slotted rotors for our cars!

Pretty sure i got mine at rockauto. I keep checking there and at advanced. There prices changed like 3 times I remember so I jumped on them when they were low. I ate the core charge but you could just stick your in there I dunno if anyone would notice. I cant remember the rpice off hand but it was under $100 like maybe $80 with the core.

EDIT: $34 with a $23 core I think thats fair thats semi loaded which I would think is with the bracket.

I like the axxis pads Brian sells as well they seem to be working well.
