Whats a good mild performance clutch??

What are you guys using? When I swap motors I will need a new clutch, but I don't want anything thats going to be a pain in the ass for everyday driving. The motor's an 88 A20A4, I am going to have Delta grind me a 272 cam, I'll use my 4th gen map again. Pacesetter header, and intake, so I won't be making 200hp or anything.
But I would figure 150hp or so, and I want something better that stock as far as holding power.
    Thoughts, experiences............thanks gentlemen.

Those are a stock replacement though. I want stronger than that. I actually have one of those now.

i have an act 6 puck racing clutch in my civic.... it was a pain the first week, but then i got used to it and now it doesnt bother me at all and i rarely have any problems. You can expect your shifting to be a little harder though (you wont have a transition from gear to gear thats as smooth as it would be with a stock replacement, but im sure you know that)

So if you can find an act 6puck that will fit, or is made for the a20, then id definatly say go for it! I like mine. Getting ready to upgrade the clutch master cylinder for even better response.

I was just looking at the clutchnet 3puck. They sell their stuff kinda weird though, you have to buy it all seperate.

Re: Whats a good mild performance clutch??

i do not reccomend the 3 puck because its very very harsh engagement. If you really want a pucked style clutch get a 6 puck sprung, it holds and is fairly easy to drive. With the 3 puck unsprung one i had, it was impossible to leave a light or a stop sign without either burning out or stalling. Avoid centerforce clutches, Exedys are a good stock replacement but id avoid it for a performance application

ive heard of alot of people having serious problems with them, besides they only use a stock type pressure plate (shitty). id stick to act/clutchmasters/clutchnet

Yeah, I will more than likely do a clutchmasters kit. I think a stage1 will do, they say 40% more hold over stock. And that should be nice for my mods.

about a month after i had replaced my clutch with and exedy one, i launched my car at about 4k and it didnt grip at all, youll definately have to get one better than that for performace, since then ive taken it easy on the launches
