Honda Tuning Article , B20A Swap

I just picked up a copy of Honda Tuning.
Well I saw that put a B20a into an Accord article. The prices all looked cheap and my wife is a big Honda fan. So where they dropping acid or is there a different B20a? From what I have seen they are extremely rare.
So what gives? What is the truth?

I think the turbo a20 is much more plosible then a b20. I wish they would have thrown that in the article to. Maybe we could have got some manifolds made or something.

They were making up rices, but they weren't far off. A B20A doesn't cost that much, however it is very hard to find, especially with a manual transaxle.

Of course I'm lazy. If I wanted to work on my car I'd have gotten a DSM

    Re: Confused by Honda Tunning

The prices were just to show that you can get a 3g, swap in a b20, and put nitrious in it for $2500 when it would cost you $3000 for a ef civic or 2g crx stock. So they are saying that you could have a faster car with the 3g for 2500 the you can with a civic or crx for 3000 and have room to drive your friends around and you could be chasing down type-r swapped hatches all day. Basically they are saying its the best all around first car because you can make it kinda fast for fairly cheap and still use it to drive all of your friends around. Sorry if that doesn't make too much sense, im kind of tired.

    Re: Confused by Honda Tunning

I guess I really find it annoying. They made it sound simple when in fact it is borderline impossible. So I take it that the A20 has some potential. I looked at the other B motor swaps. Are the motor mounts really $600+ or did I read that wrong.
I guess it times to for a nice clean 3g Accord now.

    Re: Confused by Honda Tunning

Are you talking about the article because all it prices are the Accord itself, The B20a swap, and the nitrous. Or are you talking about prices around the internet?

    Re: Confused by Honda Tunning

the article wasn't too far off, actually. you could find an 89 lx-i or even an se-i in fair condition for around $1000 (depending on your locale). and a b20a engine isn't really expensive. your problem probably wouldn't be paying for it. it would be finding one. you could possibly get a b20a1 from europe since no one cares about an edm engine and get carotman to mod a prelude ecu to jdm b20a specs for you. kinda pointless if you're going to turbo, though. but for $2500, you could have a pretty quick turbo'd a20 3g as well.

YES, the a20 does have a lot of potential, there are many parts out there that can easily be modded to fit onto this car. and pretty soon we should be able to get turbo manifolds too, im working on getting some guy to start making them, f22parts.com
