    replace throttle cable or accelerator?

well the car idles like way to high wich kinda sucks, i dunno what to adjust but if i put my foot under the accelerator and pull it out the car stalls and im like 100% sure its the accelerator or the cable... i noticed a very slight bend in the cable but im pretty sure thats not it. and if it is the accelerator pedal, how would i replace that? untill then, this silly temporary repair that holds my idle down

nah i dont think theres a vacuum leak, but im pretty sure my timing is a bit advanced cause ever since i done the head gasket my idle has all broken (i didnt flip the carb) but i dont remember moving the crank or cam while the head was off. i tried 2 retard the distributor as much as possible but still idles high, that paper clip is whats saving my car ATM from idling high

also got some fairly new bosch plugs in there (about 6 months old) and 4 bosch leads and 1 origonal lead and the car ran better, but that was with leads from our barina. maybe i should replace them soon aswell?

i would say you have binding in your throttle cable. it's either that, or you have gunk built up around the return spring. i had experience with gunk, and a good spray of carb cleaner loosened it up and had me going again.

Adjust the cable so there is some slack in it at idle right where it is bare cable by the TB.

I had the same problem that lifting the throttle with your foot would solve. Mine do it only on hot hot days in traffic.
