    Re: headers

oh, but me and monkey are talking about dcs headers. at least neither of us got one with our headers. and i don't think that copper gasket will work for us either. here's what the dcs headers look like:
    secondaries

    primaries

    Re: headers

Doesn't look like it needs one I mean a flat gasket.

    I think I see the 2 rings.

    Re: headers

yeah, they're in the secondaries. they're part of the header too so you don't have to worry about them falling out and disappearing.

    Re: headers

yeah there completly diff. looks like the rings are allready attatched on your secondaries, built in perharps? pacesetter probably cut corners to cut price. by the looks of those dc's it has a good seal, might not need one. but i have no clue

    Re: headers

yeah, and from the looks of that gasket and then my pix, i don't think a dcs header and a pacesetter header will bolt up to each other for the 1sts/2nds. it'll have to be a cut and hack job and so by then you'll probably lose any advantage the dcs header has over the pacesetter.

does anyone know the specs on the bolt for the dcs headers that goes between the primaries and the secondaries? thickness, thread depth, etc.

ahhh allright, i will look at that tomarow, i truely didnt know i was bidding against someone else on here, if i woulda known i probably woulda not bid. but there were sitting here, and i had allready got them re-welded, so it was like "install them now or never install them wich also ment not installing the high flow cat either becuse the old pipeing was very past time to be changed and was rusted together,

    Re: headers

The rattling is caused by the pacesetter downpipe hitting a crossmember in the engine bay...

Get the car up on a lift and you should see it.

You'll have to nick out a piece of the crossmember to keep it from hitting. Funny thing is this doesnt happen in all cars... Only some.
Alas, no more 3gee. She was a wonderful car and will be missed..

No more 92 hatch either! I go through cars too much.

    Re: headers

yeah, chop your crossmember. and does anyone know the specs for the bolts on the dcs headers between primaries and secondaries? because my car is sitting on jacks and i can't drive it till i get it bolted together because it attracts too much attention to itself. either that or i have to put the stock headers back on.

Take the header to a Honda dealership. They'll sell you the bolts you need for the header. Worked for me. They'll also hook you up with the proper crush gaskets too.

    Re: headers

about how much would they run me from the dealer? because i got some bolts from the hardware store that will work just as well. if anyone ever needs to know so they can pick them up on their own, they're a 10 mm bolt with a 1.0 pitch. get whatever length you want.

you cant see it to well but the black part of the bracket (coverd in old oil and dirt) is resting on the oil pan higher up, can this just be choped out or is that bracket needed?
