    headers

allright i just picked up some pacesetter armor coated headers off ebay for 120 with shiping i figured it was a good deal so i jumped on it, but i was wondering if anyone is runing these headers with a high flow converter, and
the pacesetter cat-back system that is allready on my car? also should i get the ball joint replaced with a flexpipe? and about how much will that run me? heres the pic on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...QQcmdZViewItem (i hope i put this thread in the right place lol noob) thanks

    Re: headers

I have one, not armor coated, and I run the ball joint with no problems, on my 88 LXi hatch.

    Re: headers

Yeah thats a good deal mine was about that and mine isn't coated, be forwarned that you'll probally need to ream out the flange holes, where the header meets the down pipe, and the bracket that goes under the oil pan. but the rest was golden on mine.

    Re: headers

i doubt they'll have to take off enough of the coating to make much of a difference to reweld the pipes.

^ what he said, i dont think it will make a HUGE diff, if they have to grind off a lil. there shouldnt be a problem.

    Re: headers

Weld inside? you don't want welds going into the pipes or it will restrict flow, cause turbulence and what not.

    Re: headers

dude it wont be that big of a deal...

i would go with a flex pipe, much more flexibility(hence the name) than a ball joint

hmm...now that's an idea worth exploring. though who knows where you can find dcs headers. although just the primaries or just the secondaries might be easier to find than a whole thing. if someone gets a pacesetter to me i'll try it since i haven't tried putting on my dcs headers yet.

yeah im going to get DC headers but the downpipe is missing from wut i heard they are similar to the pacesetters but high quality...they dont use gaskets they have like a mettal ring that connects the 2. well maybe i can find out.

    Re: headers

yeah, they have a metal ring in each tube inbetween the 1sts and the 2nds instead of a real gasket. i was expecting a gasket too when i bought them but they didn't have one so i asked the dude and he said that that's just how they come.

    Re: headers

I would not worry about welding up a hole that size at the flange, odds are that would not be a favorite place to rust through. Just get some diy coating to touch that place up. I think it was still a good deal considering your options if you want to run and benfit with tubes.
What is up with all the members with DC headers and not putting them on thier cars yet. I wish I had one, it siot-en-lee would be on the car already. 5-15 percent HP and MPG increase yo, (well no mpg if you keep wanting to hear it hammer). No dis-r intended.
