Newbie ~ From Bay Area Ca W/ ???

I'm a newbie from the bay area, California. I have a 89 Honda Accord LX with 240,000 miles on the original engine. I got the car for free from my girlfriend's dad. All I have been trying to do was get it smogged. The first time I forgot the paper work. The second time the raditor cracked in mulitple places. So I had to drive it back about 40 miles in 100 F heat. I got to my friends house about half way home and had to put silicone on the leak (Plus Alumseal & more coolant) I let the silicone dry about 2 hours. It held the way home. Bubbled out with coolant. The car has been kind of takin care of. Only oil changes, spark plugs, tires and brakes. So it needs ball joints, raditor, full tune up, all filters.
But I have a question about it. The temp went up to 3/4 of the gauge. Now I have oil on the edge of my head gasket. I keep wiping it away and it comes back. Right above the engine block numbers.

The compression test came back fine 180psi, 10psi difference between cylinders. I just replaced the valve cover gasket also.(Doesn't Leak) I heard the distrubator gasket can leak. I was wondering where the oil was coming from? Or if someone else had this problem?

...its good to knoe there is another member from the bay. well you could of warped the head when you drove it in that hot heat...making the headgasket blow...you should try to take it apart and take it to a shop to see if its warped. you can try to change the gasket your self since when i went to a friends auto repair shop the est: came out to $1250 so i just got the gasket from ebay and had my 2 uncles do it...cost 43 bucks....saved some money...well good luck...

    Welcome
MessyHonda88dx is right you might of warped the head or maybe just blown the headgasket, does your coolant look like oil is in it?
Or it maybe the dist. o-ring is leaking oil.
Sorry I cant be of more help, but I'm sure one of the members here can help you out.
