    Out with the old...

    And in with the new!
At the end of this week, I will bid a fond farewell to my beloved 88 hatch. I never managed to get pictures up, but I had access to a camera today, so here you are. (By the way, the car is being parted out, if you want parts, go here.)

Here is what it looks like from the passenger side:

    Aaaaaaand the driver's side!

I'm sure you can understand why I'm getting rid of it, I would have to practically take the car apart to repair all that, and in the meantime, I wouldn't have a car. It was a painful decision to make, but in the end, practicality won out over youthful idealism. So I did some searching and I found something that met my standards. I checked it out and dropped off a check this afternoon, I'll be back to pick up the car next saturday.

Can you guess what it is?

    I'll give you a hint:

B17! (Sorry, was that too obvious?)

Of course I'm lazy. If I wanted to work on my car I'd have gotten a DSM

    Re: Out with the old...

    Damn right!
It's clean as hell, in fact, it's the find we all dream about. It has 88.5K on the odometer, and it was garage-kept by some mom who used it to drive to her day job. Besides a tiny spot of rust on the right rear wheel well, whcih is so small you can't even see it in that pic I posted, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this car. And, it's bone-stock! I've been looking for a DA GS-R for over a month now, and one in mint condition pops up only an hour away from me! How lucky is that?

I'm really psyched, if you didn't guess.

Of course I'm lazy. If I wanted to work on my car I'd have gotten a DSM

I'm exteremely jealous. I used to have one but the enigne caught fire due to a leaky injector. I look around everyday for an aztec green 92-93 teg gsr. You are a lucky man , how much did you pay for it. Take care of 'er and if you ever decide to even think about selling it pm me

I was just joking if I had that car I'd be buried in it. You paid the perfect price for it though.

    Re: Out with the old...

No worries there, I have to pay off the loan before I can do anything at all to it, and there's no way I'd ruin a car like that. This car's going to be as OEM as possible.

GodDAMN I'm psyched. I'll post some more pics after I pick the car up

The only reason I'd ever drive an automatic would be because I lost the use of my legs. And my balls.

    Re: Out with the old...

Nice find!! I love my 96 GS-R. Only thing I can say is, if it has plastic tanked radiator, you will soon be replacing it. Get an ALL METAL radiator and save yourself further headaches. The seem to all split on the top tank, I had two let go in my teg, and about a month ago, I got a new Modine All Metal radiator from NAPA, brass/copper tanks and copper core. May not dissipate heat like an all aluminum, but Im not boosted or any of that crap, so it works fine for me, even in 100+ degree heat in traffic on blacktop.

That's about the only thing I can think of about the tegs to watch out for. The only other thing you might notice is high school girls flirting with you alot more. I drove a big bad ass truck for years thinking it was a pussy magnet, but, I never got the flirts from girls while driving like I have in my Teg!!! Sucks to find this out after I get married..... I have horrible timing btw.
