hey does anyone know the size of the front roll bar diameter? energy suspension makes sway bar bracket bushings in different mm sizes,but I need the size of the factory sway bar. I think it's different on a hatch also if I'm not mistaken. I made the end links a couple of years ago by machining down one of their universal kits, but I'm going to replace the ones on the frame also. if youhave already done this let me know what you used.

There is no difference between the body styles that I am aware of, only year and trim level.
Stock 86-87
F: 20.5mm (approx 13/16”), 0.69
R carb: none
R fuel injected: 12mm (approx 15/32"), 0.73
Stock 88-89
F: 22.5mm (approx 7/8"), 1.00
R carb: none
R fuel injected: 13mm (approx 1/2"), 1.00

um the hatchs come with a rear bar stock,I've got one on the car and another one in the back room here.
Are those hatches fuel injected?

it's an 86 dx,it's carbed. I believe all the hatchs were supposed to have rear bars.Originally Posted by AZmike
ok my mistake,as many times as I've looked at the bottom of that car,I swore it had a sway bar. It will soon, I already had the bar from an 89 lxi hatch, and end links. got it for free. all I had to order were the links that attach to the rear trailing arms,new end link bushings,and the brackets that bolt to the underside of the car. as well as the metal pieces that attach to the links and one bracket which was missing on the sway bar. it's wierd,if you look under 86 dx carbed,it shows the bar,but it shows all the pieces unavailable,yet they are all listed under 89 lxi hatch. same bar too. even the same part numbers.
hey if someone might have one of the small links that attach to the bar,let me know,one of these links is bent. I can probably straighten it but if i can't I'll need one.
