CV boots installation, 88 DX auto

Hi,

Just picked up these parts from the dealer. The straps are each about four times the diameter of their end of the boot. Do they wrap around several times? After the last pass, do they get bent back over themselves, or do you just clinch the flat loop they pass through?

My manual shows a big band and small band(s) for each boot. From the picture, they look sized just right. Did you get the right size?

There's lots of different types but the most common (OEM style)has a little notch (after almost one wrap around) you hook a tab onto and fold over which helps to tighten it. You then fold down two small tabs to hold the end of the strap down. I think each strap was roughly 1.5 times bigger than the diameter of the boot.
