    carb motor problems

    i have a 88 lx with tha carb'd motor... when i start the car and it's not warm, it slowly dies... the rpm's just get gradually lower and lower until it dies... also, when i take off either of the last two plug wires, the car boggs down and is about to die, but if i take of either of the first two plug wires, the car still runs fine? is the car supposed to do this? i know it's not the plugs or the wires, because it's getting spark... ima newb but have been reading tha forum for a month or so now... but any help is good help... thank you everybody

    I'm still trying to figure it out.

    Have you replaced the cap and rotor recently?
    Have you check the plugs?
    Have you checked the basics, coolant and oil levels?
    Is the solinoid at the back of the carb opening?
    Is the fuel bowl draining, signyfying that the pump isn't working?



    If it turns out not to be electrical:
    It could be the thermovalves / choke / fast idle.

    i jus recently got tha car, and am in the process of tuning it all up, tuning up EVERYTHING... so i haven't gotten a new cap and rotor yet, mostly because i dont know which of tha two kinds it is, any help on that?... tha plugs are brand new also... i checked all tha fluids and they're all good too, even though im gonna flush them all out soon and replace all tha filters... i dont know anything about tha solenoid or tha fuel bowl... i dont even know where to look for those.. . help please haha... thanks a lot

    The hitatchi distributor has an all round diameter cap, the TEC distributor has a round with one side flat on the distributor cap.

    ima check on all that stuff tomorrow... well, uhh, actually later today i guess, since it's 6 in tha mornin... i jus got back an hour ago from tha street races haha... i was too busy today, my cousin got a 67 pontiac tempest, so we was workin on that ya digg haha... thanks though
