    High idle 3-4k

I have a 89 DX that on start-up idles at about 3500-4000 with the choke closed, the choke starts opening as the engine is warming up the idle drops as the choke opens but will die when the chock is about half open. I can close the choke butterfly and keep the engine running at the high rpm, Thanks in advance for any advice.

    1) Check for vaccum leaks.
    STEP 1

    2) Check Venturies.
    Step 2

    3) Check idle Adjustment.
    Step 3

In each thread is a list of other possibilities and/or pre-checks to help ensure that adjustments are made under the right conditions.
