    CarPuter Looks Great!

I have a AMD Mobile Turion MT 37 2.0Ghz, I think with a Mini ITX Motherboard with like a geFORCE 6100 Chipset it would make a nice system
    2004-2011?

Re: My Carputer setup, lots of pics

This post has resurrected from the dead so i could kill it. I've changed plans on the car entertainment system. Back when I started the first carputer system it was 2004. Things were different, PDAs were cool, MP3 players held a few dozen songs for a couple hundred dollars, your new Pentium 4 computer was blazin, 35 million people were still using AOL dial up. So anyways back in the day I was always trying to make a touch screen tablet to put in the dash. Get a laptop and flip the screen around like a Lenovo Yoga or the ones that rotate. In 2005 i have written plans on connecting my Verizon Palm Treo 650 to share the internet through the computer then through a wireless router, so i could have a wifi "Hotspot". I often took multiple car road trips with friends and we would have liked internet while driving down the highway. We could be on AIM and have free IM/text to eachother while driving. Printer in the glove box, 120volt outlets throughout the car, the 2nd row seats would have had a different sound card and controller to be able to listen to different music than was playing through the carputer through their headphones. I'm missing a few other features i cant think of now. I had it set to stay on when connected to the home wireless so that it would automatically update new music from my home computer to the carputer.

3G/4G Touchscreen laptops obviously exist today and i was planning on that for a while but now after all this work doing the carb to fi, auto to 5speed conversion i would like to keep the car mostly stock with the exception of suspension and wheels. I still have the original honda deck and im going to put that in. I will however be running an amp and nice speakers, the amp will allow me to connect a mp3 player if i wish. I dont really use CDs anymore but mostly radio and MP3s occasionally.

So no more carputer, a lot has changed with technology and what i listen to in the car since i first started using the carputer. I'm going back to the basics.

I remember when you started this project. You are right about technology. Now new decks can conect to your phone thru bluetooth making it easy to connect to anything.
