rust under the tail light

ive seached around havent really found much but is there any way to remove the panel below the right tail light the one with the trim symbol on it mines rusting pretty bad thanks to a leaky tail light just wondering thanks

it can be cut out and welded back in. it's not hard to find that part in good shape in a junkyard. you can pull it out with tinsnips. it bolts to the body on one side and is spot welded on the other. you could also drill the welds out and unbolt it.

no matter how you go about it, there's welding involved in getting it repaired properly.

ive had rust in mine, i just punched out the hole and plugged it up with some metal putty stuff cause the hole was bigger than i thought and the body filler wouldnt fill it. i had to remove the whole bumper and light just to get good access at it lol. and i didnt even use sand paper

don't forget to use newspaper if your bumper doesnt match the color of the car!!!

well might as well replace it i could just sand it down and repaint it but im lazy since i could just replace it pretty easy i might as well its an eye sore in the rear end only thing is i gotta find a shop thatll spot weld it for me lol

i think sanding that lil piece down and repainting it is simpler than replacing it unless youquite often use a welder. i supose if you want to replace it a cheap way, just knock that piece out, get another 1, and just use body filler to hold it together. it might be weak, but its not as if you hit the thing with a bat or anything. gl with it anyways

lol ya ill try sanding it down and swee how bad it is worst thing that might happen is i sand through it and have to take one from the junk yard lol haha itll be a fun little project got the filler primeier and the paint from fixing the rust up by my windsheild which sucked but it doesnt leak any more
