question about heads

i have an 86lx-i, and i was wondering if i could swap in the heads from an 89, i gather that the 88-89 have higher compression because of the heads, which results in +- 10 HP gains.

is this a feasable project?

and there is a tricky part to this question, if i get the GUDE racing package, which includes ported and polished heads, will they be more effective if i already had the 89 heads on, or would either the 86 heads or the 89 heads turn out the same after gude works on them?

The diference in compression is from the pistons not the heads. All the a20a motors use the same head, regardless of the year or trim package.

well thanks for clearing that up~

obviously this is a very newbie question, but would it be simple to just change the pistons, or should i just go for aftermarket pistons, and skip the 88-89 step~
