    Talking Another 3G

    I just bought a 88 4dr LXI black in color, 5 speed trans, sunroof, interior color is black/beige(tan) color the dash is two tone color black/beige.
    I'm going to use this for my parts car..
    I'm finally going to get my 5 speed swap done and I'm gonna rebuild the engine for my 89 LXI .
    I'm going to pick the car up either this saturday or during labor day weekend I'll post pics when I get it and once I'm done getting what I need off of it I'll put up a list of whats left to see if anyone wants parts from it...

    wow thats cool...i thought you didnt want a 5 speed?...lol on craigslist they are giving a LX for free...the guy sent me pics but it does not run....jy will only give me 65 bucks for it...lol

    Yeah I know but 5 speed seems to be the best way to go for fuel economy.
    besides I drove a 94 jetta for 8years and it was a 5speed, I missed downshifting to slow down

    screw fuel economy, a 5 speed is the way to get the most fun out of your 3gee i'm glad you've decided to ditch the auto trans... you'll love your car even more once it's done. man you've been doing hella shit to your ride lately... i think i see a AOM in your future

    thats too bad the doors aren't two-tone on the black ones.. the full two-tone interior is one of the first things that attracted me to my current 3gee

    not that it matters to you unless you were planning on swapping in the interior hehe

    You know I've only seen the car once and that was at night so I'm not to sure what condition the interior is in.
    The car runs it just need brakes, the main reason for buying it was for the trans and engine,
    So when I do my swap I wont have to go to the j/y for all the little pices that I will need.
    I guess we will see what happens, and Geddy,Frantik,Messy I'll let you guys know first what I'm going to do.
    But you guys will have to drive to Vallejo for the parts

    oh shit i didnt see you were gonna rebuild the engine too

    i won't mind driving up there if the driver's seat is in good condition hehe (i was actually just PMing getty saying maybe we should have a minimeet in the north bay).. but yeah i know the interior wasn't on your mind when you got it hehe.

    I'm guessing because its going to be a parts car that it was in an accident or something, but if the body is good, and no rust, then I want it.

    sweet...i might be in modesto geting my SE-i breaks...tokico shocks and lowering springs in on the 9th...i could stop by....so yeah have you done a compression test to the engine? i would not rebuild it unless it needed one.

    Well I brought then donor car home today, in a few weeks I'll start my 5speed swap and everything else.
    I lucked out on this 3g according to the guy I bought it from the engine was rebuilt about a year ago, it does sound stronger than mine but I'll take a compression test to see if it is what he says.





    Oh and I had 3 of these in the trunk

    yeah the drivers seat is pretty beat, I'm still thinking about swaping interiors I like the black tan dash setup I'll get seat covers if I do a swap till I get a cleaner seat.
