well.. the plugs, wires, and exaust are brand new. I dont have a cat or rezanatior so that could be part of the problem, I only run suprem in it but that shouldent be a problem. It smells almost exactly like a snowmobile lol

    Re: Fumes

There ya go, you're running rich. Do you notice any drop in gas mileage? If so, might be a time to change the O2 sensor. Also, check to see if your timing is correct and the plugs are gapped properly.

Also there's no need to run Supreme in these cars, these cars run on low compression (hence the shitty 120 hp, but still better than a 90hp scion xb/xa). Supreme is only helpful for cars with high compression engines to prevent detonation. If you want to run cleaner gas, just add fuel system cleaner with every fillup with regular 87 octane gas and is also up to the gas station where you fill up at. I usually go BP or Hess. I do find that the 89 and 93 octanes last longer though. The same amount of money spent for 87 and 89 gets me about the same gas mileage, go figure . So now I usually go 89 octane myself with fuel system cleaner.

I find when i run supreme it lasts longer and the car runs smother, IMO anyway, as for droping in gas milage I checked the other day and I got 206 km on 15L of gas

Another way to check for a failing O2 sensor is black carbon buildup on your exhaust. No matter how you clean your muffler, it never stays clean. Could be also mainly cus you are running without a cat. These OBD-0 cars don't do much for emissions, the cat does most of the cleaning work. Just get a freeflow cat like CATCO or Carsound.

    Re: Fumes

We dont have emmisions testing here no I dont need a cat, plus it sounds better with out it lol. I'd say its the 02 sensors but i think theres more to it because you can smell it from really far away and the backfireing and flames might be somthing to look into haha. I'll find out this weekend, when i have some time to look at it

so i just put that whole post in a document for dell and then saved and sent it

    Re: Fumes

Hmm...if you are backfiring that sounds like your cam timing is way off - meaning your engine is firing at the time when your exhaust valves are still open. That, or your exhaust valves are bent or not sealing properly for some reason during combustion. That doesn't sound good. I wouldn't drive that car like that if I were you or kiss that engine good bye. Check your timing belt too. Maybe it's old and has alot of slack, causing your timing to be way off. If there is alot of slack, change the timing belt and tensioner along with it. While you are at it, a new water pump and headgasket would be advisable. Worse case scenario, your valves are bent and you need to get that head overhauled or get a rebuilt one.

It could also be bad injectors, possibly a cracked injector. I had a couple cracked injectors and they were causing the car to idle like shit, and run really rich too.

so could that be the reason my car runs rich??? one of my injectors tip is chipped off and the another is cracked, so if i change them then it should be running right again?? and make it idle better

Mine was running rich too until I replaced the injectors. There was a noticeable improvement in both power and MPG after replacing them.

BTW can you post pics or video of the flames out the exhaust
