    Ecu

Ok I have used the search button and still cannot find anything on a performance ecu. I want to rev higher, I just got my head back from being ported and polished, and I am waiting for my cam to get done being regrinded. i have been through alot of b series engines and there is nothing like revving high., please help I need an different ecu, I was actually wondering if an auto ecu will do the trick. i have actually done that with my saturn sc2 and that removed the rev limiter.

well our cars cant rev that high. you lose all power after like 4500rpm so no point if you can rev it to 7000...you are just going to waste gas...i think they only had had like one company that made chiped ECUs and EricW has one.

you dont want to rev over 7250 because youll start getting into valve float plus youll prolly start stretching rod bolts. Even with a cam you probably wont make enough power up there anyway. Unless youre on a complete fully built race engine, id advise against reving higher than you have to. My friend had an LSVtec civic, he could rev to 8500 rpm and he was shifting at 8100, but i told him to shift at 7400 rpm on the next pass, he went nearly a full second faster in his quarter mile time. Even on my turbo accord i make the most power from 4-6k

Plus youll need to worry about bearings and stuff. 20 year old motors arent meant to spin faster than they were built for
