    The my suspension thread....

yes i have started work on my suspension finally. Today i lowered the rear of the car with tannabe ajustable platform coilovers. I have no idea what car they were out of. my mate thinks they are from an EK civic. i bought them off a mate for $100NZ we had to play around a bit with the bottom end to make them fit. and if your gunna bitch about my slow pics loading plz dont. cause i cant be fluffed uploading them elsewhere!

in the end we successfully made them fit the accord, with a considerable drop too.

    Re: The my suspension thread....

the wire was to hold the spring compressed. we compressed them in a vice then tied them up...of course we untied the wire when we were done

    Re: The my suspension thread....

yeah i just realized that was probably what you were doing. at first i thought they were too long or something so you compressed them a lil and were plannin on leaving the cable on while installed on the car.. i was imagining the cable coming loose and the whole backend getting fucked up

btw i want your taillights lol.. too bad the wouldn't fit my car

Very nice dude, glad to see some full bodies on a 3gee. The only other ones I ever saw ended up being to short. Funny I did the same thing with the wire to compress the spring, but I used the weight of the car, because I didnt have a compressor, LOL.

    Re: The my suspension thread....

looks like the rear of my car was too low. Cruising through town last night a cop pulls me over and says that the back of my car is too stiff. (he compared it to his cop car which bounced like crap) so he gives me one of these which means i have to get another warrent of fitness for my car before i can be able to use it again. ill have to swap my stock shocks back into the car. and to make it even worce i have to go to a proper testing station not just a garage liek i allways do. Wish me luck the gay testing station doesnt fail me on anything else.....

well for starters i forgot to update this thread when i got these...

from a ba5 prelude. modifyed to fit accord. fronts are lower overall but the rears are higher so i will have to shorten them. Shocks and king springs costed me $375 for the set. Best thing ive ever bought for my car.

Not too bad. You could have another groove machines on the struts to change the spring height.

You sure the cops won't knock you for having springs that are yellow? That could be dangerous, cause some sort of distraction to other drivers...

LOL well i dont live in auckland or wellington or near state highway 1 so the cops arent as anal. but still one i ller the rear to match the front they wont even see the yellow. I wish they konis were externally ajustable for ease of ajustment. but i think i have the dampening set right for neutral handling. just gotta lower the back to turn that positive camber into negative.....

    Re: The my suspension thread....

Dude, my car was at least as low as those first pics and had no worries with a wof.
If you can show them you have at least 100mm ground clearance to
any chassis rails or part of the cars main structure you should bw cool.
i always carry a bit of 4x2 in the car at wof time and demo it for them.
I have low kings in mine and have 120mm clearance.
most wof guys will see the kings and let you slide aslong as they arnt loose when the wheels are off the ground

    Re: The my suspension thread....

yeah it wasnt my car being low that got me in shit it was the non certified coilovers. stupid i know but yeah the konis will pass inspection. currently my car isnt low at all, only in the front and high in the back. cant wait till its even.

    Re: The my suspension thread....

    you should know beter
mind you , i know how strong the urge is to try out a new mod.
when i done the exhaust on my car, i just went from the hoist to the dyno and ran it up.
should have driven it so the ecu could adjust things abit.
