sounds good, though they would probably need a 3g to experiment with. and remember, our engines lean 22* forward, the 3g prelude engines lean 18* toward the firewall.

Re: 3g prelude h22 mount grp buy

B or even K series mounts would be better than H22a mounts I think. The B is because these engines seem to naturaly drop in the car due to their position and the K series is because they are the new thing

Re: 3g prelude h22 mount grp buy

i'd be into a group buy for h-series or b-series, probly leaning more to b cuz, they're pretty cheaper... k-series engines are fricken expensive, would be cool though.

I thought we were only 15* forward.
I guess I should go back and test the flat surface of the mount on the side of the block to the angle of the port face.

Re: 3g prelude h22 mount grp buy

Hey if their group buy succeeds, I think it should be our turn! I don't doubt AZRacemachine will do the same thing for us! They would need a 3gee donor car in the Gainesville FL area though. $300-$400 is not a bad price for a set of engineered custom mounts. Raxles can make the same axles for us provided our hubs have the same spline count as those ludes - 26 or 28 spline....

Ok first off, you guys can get the axles done for cheaper then this guy can. and for everybody that says they will pay under 400 for a set of mount. You need to go look at the price of Civic, CRX, Integra, ETC... motor swap kits. They are readily available and run around 400-500, unless you get some crappy mounts that WILL brake.

Re: 3g prelude h22 mount grp buy

you can find k-series engines for relatively cheap. they sell the base rsx jdm k20 longblock for $1600 + ship. so you could probably find a usdm one for even cheaper. try k20a.org and see if anyone is selling one. then all you would need is the k20-r, k20-si, or k20-s head to get those 200+ hp numbers. basically the ls/vtec evolved. or you can get a tsx or new accord block w/ k20 head for the crvtec evolved.

yeah k-series would be nice, those motors are prime. My homegirl just took out her itr swap, from her civic hx, and had an k24 with the 6spd tranny, and that damn coupe cracks tec and dips like it is its job!!!!

yeah, the k-series motors are wonderful works of engineering. i need to get around to driving one one day. but a k-swapped 3g would be sick. also a feat of engineering and a wiring nightmare to boot. i say it's high time the board got a project car and we can all chip in on it. i know i would donate some $$$. because all you really need is a rolling chassis which can be had for dirt cheap.

Re: 3g prelude h22 mount grp buy

i say we have a poll first, it think most of the guys would want b series mounts just because they are so common, and affordable, and easy to throw on some aftermarket stuff and be set...k series would cost as much as the mounts, b16 engine&trans., and a complete intake&exhaust setup with change to spare...

Re: 3g prelude h22 mount grp buy

yeah, i think most guys will want a b-series. not just because it's so common or cheap. an h22 can be had for about the same price as a b18c1 or even cheaper, depending on the generation. but no one has experience with the h-series in our cars so most guys won't want that. and the k-series, it's not just the cost of the k-series, it's the engines themselves. they involve so much more work to get in, that most guys would rather buy an a20 or b-series and turbo the hell out of it for the price of putting in a k. but not just the price, there's all the work involved. the k-series engines use an electronic throttle, so you have to wire that up. the engine is opposite the bay of the 3g, so you have to relocate all the stuff like brake lines and stuff to the other side. who knows how the ecu will deal with a 3g dash so you'll have a hell of a time there. the k-series uses a non-return fuel set-up so you have to fix that. the shift linkage probably will also have to be redone since the trans is on the other side of the bay. and then since the exhaust comes off the firewall side, you'll have to route that. and who knows how it'll like the radiator set-up. but someone will get it done, it's just a matter of how much they love the idea of a 3g with a k.

edit: hasport how to swap a k into an ef civic guide. figured that'd be the closest to a 3g in terms of usual recipient of the k-series.

Re: 3g prelude h22 mount grp buy

Are there so many differences between a Prelude 3G's engine bay, and an Accord 3G's engine bay ?

If both are similar, it would then be possible to mount an H22 engine using this kit those guys want to group buy.

Would it be a problem for our 3gee Accord having the engine leaning like in a Prelude bay ?

Maybe the rear cross bar is different ?

I really would like to know what are the differencies betwen thos two cars engine bays.

    (excuse my poor english)
