    98 bodywork

some pictures from working on the 98 bodywork
my wife already got her certificate,so i'm getting the diploma, now i'm finishing the car.
    spot weld dent puller

puller welds to panel then slide hammer is built in,when you are done with a particular pull, you simply twist it to remove.

took about 60 pulls to fix this area, still isn't finished

almost finished, temp in primer until finished

    Re: 98 bodywork

when you are done you clean off the small bits of metal with a 30 grit disc in a die grinder, then you can fill and finish. it leaves the metal intact. you don't have to pull the metal up perfectly, just close enough to finish with filler, also to lower the high spots, you hit it with the disc, then that highlights them, then you use the puller to hold the metal, while you hammer down the high spots with a body hammer.

each one is a pull area, it takes a lot of little pulls to straighten it out.

    Re: 98 bodywork

    more work on the 98,
the temp primer has been removed,

this is before removing the primer to highlight the high spots

and now the high spots are hit with a body file to lower them.

now the metal is roughed with a 60 grit disc,it's too smooth after it is hit with the body file. the scratches in the metal help hold the filler in place.

    spreading the filler

first coat of filler showing low spots after sanding

    second coat of filler

CAH i just fixed the last picture, you should mix and apply your filler within one to one and a half minutes, one minute is probably pushing it,in the second picture, thats what your filler should look like before you sand anything.
