yeah its not worth it if your car is not fuel injected yet....plus you just cant get a b20 with out like a 7 month wait. and you have to get it imported....you might as well stick a b18 since you can get thoes here

well our cars only came with the a series engine that ranged from 98 to 120hp and the b series came with 160 and they have more aftermarket support...they came in integras.

wrong. don't listen to this man if you're after the engines that bolt in. the b18a/b or b18c1/c5 from an integra will NOT bolt into our cars. the b18a from the 1984-1987 prelude (not 1988-1991) is the same b18a from the 1986-1989 accord which is the one we're after if you want a b18. it might be better for you since it's carbed so you wouldn't have to do an fi swap. however, a b18a is even rarer than a b20a. but since you said you would consider putting in an a20a3 anyway, you might as well do a b20a and do the fi swap at the same time. the b20a you want is also from the '84-'87 prelude/'86-'89 accord. these are a bit more plentiful, though a 5 speed one is harder to find than an auto. this b20a is not to be confused with the jdm b20a from the 1988-1991 prelude which uses the same engine code. you have to check serial numbers to be sure. also, the b20a5/7/9/# from that prelude will not bolt in either. neither will the b20b/z from a crv. also, the b18a/b20a that fit our cars do not have aftermarket support specifically for them. but parts from other b-series engines do fit perfectly or with minor adjustments.

sorry snoopyloops. next time i will take more time....wut i ment to say is that our cars came with a a20 engine ranging in 98-120hp and the JDM b20 series came with 160hp and the Integra engine(b18) can be swaped with special mounts and axles and it also came with 160hp....i knoe wut you are tring to say but if you are going to go threw the truble of puting a JDM b18 you should just get a b18 and get the mounts and do the fuel injection swap.

No you have to get it from a JDM or EDM 2Gee Lude or 3Gee Accord or a 2gee Vigor

    First off I'd do a A20A3/A4 Swap
since the FI is better than carb and you'll have a good HP Gain.

the 1986-87 FI engine is rated at 110 HP and the 1988-89 is rated at 122HP vs the Carb engine at 98HP

now you can get the A20A3/A4 out of any 1986-89

didnt B18's that came in the 3geez only came dual carbed? what if you do a efi swap on a b18? or bolt a b18 tranny onto a b20, that would work right?

but i would recommend just getting a cheap a3 or a4 manual and bolting it in, will save ya ALOT of money, plus u dont gotta wait for ever and it prolly wont be worth waiting how ever many months for a engine that only has a few more horses than the A series and ya dont make the most of it or mod it at all

well, not quite. you have to weld a mount for the tranny on the passenger side, but all the rest of the mounts are the same. but that's minor compared to getting in any other b-series. and read the info thread in the b20 section of the forum. it'll tell you what cars they came in.

well, if he can get the b20 relatively quickly or at least by time he gathers all the stuff for the efi swap, he might as well do them at the same time. i'd think it'd be much easier physically. when it comes down to troubleshooting though, it might be better to go a20 first then b20.

yeah, but they still put out 130 hp. not bad. and you probably could put the a20/b20 efi im on the b18. which may bump it up to even more then the teg b18a for hp. and yes, you can bolt the b18 tranny on the b20. one of the fellows here has that combo.
