So i finally got to removing my brake pads, I have'nt even attempted to the the shoes in the rear because in my book they show the shoe coming off without the hub in the way, i'm like how the hell does the spinning part come out.
Well anyways i got my old pads off lot of work one of bolts was rusted real tight.
anyways the driver side pad was even in wear the one with the issue to get out was really uneven i got pics here, does this mean i have to get a new caliper???

Actually if you take the caliper apart from the bracket and grease the rods up you might fix the problem.
from my experience, i had to replace my caliper and rubber brake fluid lines to delete that issue. mine would wear out like crazy until i did that because the caliper would stick, not only from just the caliper itself being worn out but the brake lines insides where deteriorated and creating a vacuum situation not letting the caliper release. my brakes have been great since then. havent had to replace the shoes in the rear yet, they are original. but i did adjust them which was simple and not time consuming.

usually common to a caliper going bad, usually means that the piston wont retract normally , 86 and 87 use a pin and a bolt for thier calipers while 88's and 89 use a double bolt which is much better

he means to grease where the caliper bolts screw into, if you pull the pin out completely you can grease the slider pin before reassemble, hope that helps you outOriginally Posted by DDRaptor
Ok I dont have a picture of the calipers pulled apart, but this picture shows the parts I am talking about covered up. Just unbolt the calipers and the bracket should come off the caliper without unbolting anything else.

they sell little individual packets of brake grease at auto zone. You only need one per calipers. It's worth a shot rather then having to get new calipers. Just lube up the rod and put some grease in the holes.
thats worth a try and easy to do. i'd try that before i went any further into replacing things.
