    Admiration

I was at AutoZone the other day [as usual], and I had several ppl come up to me and comment on how they really like my car. One guy was with his wife and daughter [like 4 years old], and was saying how much he like my car and all the stuff I had done to it. He was asking like what the intake was for, how it worked, any noticeable increase in power, then he wanted to hear it so I conected the battery and started it up, and then revved it up a couple times, and a grin spread across his face, his wife leans forward and says "He loves that, he just loves cars." After a bit more talking they went about their way, and a couple hours later these two guys cam out and they walked past, then backed up and were just looking in awe at my car. The older guy says "Wow, I can't belive how clean this is. I just love the old Accords." He continues to tell me, "You know, this is the ONLY car I like more than the '89 Camry" And he points over to his across the lot. They just couldn't belive that the paint was original, and that the engine was practially sparkling. It made me feel real good, 'cause sometimes we all get lotsa slack from having older cars and fixing them up. Just thought I would share the love.

I'm confused. Do you work there or do you just like to hang out there with your hood open? I usually don't spend a few hours at the autoparts store.

I used to work there, so I feel pretty much at home there. I take it there b/c they have the lone-a-tool program, and scince I used to work there they let me take whatever I need to the lot and use it, even stuff off the shelf. [as long as I don't damage it]. Plus if I work at home the phone rings, and my fam comes out and bothers me, and it also makes sure that I can drive it home.

EDIT: And I always work with the battery disconected, safety first!

I only unplug the battery if I'm doing stereo shit. It's annoying having to keep changing the fuses.

I was working on the horn, I don't think anyone would have appreciated it if I didn't disconect it.

What sucks is when you blow the main battery fuse. You're like what the hell, why won't my car do anything. You check the battery connections and everything. Then after hours of searching your car, it's the damn main fuse to the batter.

    Re: Admiration

Cool story. I had one of the guys doing my tint job a few months ago offer me 2 grand on the spot for mine, he could not believe how clean it was and how well it ran (before it's untimely death due to ruptured radiator hose) He told me if I ever wanted to sell it, he might pay more just depended on if the car was still that clean when I got ready to sell it and what I needed to get back out of it, but come ask him first before I put it up for sale lol. Not the only offer I've had to buy it either. It's worth more to me to keep it in gas savings though than to sell it and have to buy a new car with payments. Maybe in the next couple years but not for a while anyway.
