    "bouncing idle"

i have an 87 accord lx. when i stop at any light the idle bounces between about 1200 and 250 rpm. sometimes it is fine and sometimes it is more drastic. i even had the car stall once on me. any ideas what it could be. thanks

yeah it does sound like your carb....i would get some carb cleaner and spray it... take off the air cover lid....have a buddy rev the car up to 3000 RPM and then spray it into the carb. it should clean all the gunk....its also good to replace both fuel filters if you have not replaced them.

I would try searching for that befor someone lights you on fire. Its a pretty common problem with older hondas. The thermosate was causing it on mine

i thought it was a vaccume hose at first, but wouldnt a leaking vaccume cause the problem to be mroe constant?

    Re: "bouncing idle"

I had this symptom when I was screwing around trying to get my high idle to drop down when my alternator went. Theres these 2 wires that go into the carb from the driver side. Near the bottom of the carb, they have a clip to take it apart if you want. When I disconnected that I got those symptoms, check that out

    The EFE plate.

    It heats fuel

"Early fuel evaporation" or something like that. or was it "electronic fuel evaporation"
