    Re: performance help

If you're in the US, and you have an '85, your car is a 2nd gen. No cup holders for you sorry. You'll have to use the space between the seats and the e-brake.

If you're a JDM freak, you can get an arm rest, which isn't available in the US. You can get the JDM headlights which look better than the sealed beams (imo). You can get digital gauges... Umm... there's the Vigor rear bumper and Vigor panel between the tail lights which looks kinda cool. There's also anti-lock brakes.

The european models have headlight washers and wipers as well!

Few interior parts swap between 2nd and 3rd gen. The steering wheel, shift knob and boot, and the column switches will swap across. I think the shifter will too. So if you're down with a short shifter, you should be able to get the same one that works on the 3rd gens.

You can use the 86-87 DX and LX brakes on the front. The calipers are a bit bigger and bolt right on. This means you can also use the JDM twin piston calipers on your car.

The engine swaps across too. The mounts are the same, and the heads should swap too. If you want DOHC, the B20A will mount right in. Good luck getting one though.

And if you want 4 wheel disc, you can pull the rear discs from a Prelude and pop them on.

Hey show us some pics of your car! We'd love to see it, and welcome to the site!

    Re: performance help

B20A, you'll find it in the 3geez in the Japanese market.

JDM headlights? Gotta get resourceful. I am getting help from some cool peeps on the forum.

If your speedometer needle broke. I have an extra speedometer out of the gauge cluster. You can take it and put it in your gauge cluster instead of replacing the whole thing.

Yeah in 83 the Prelude came out with an engine with the same block. It was dual-carb though. Not sure if the head is the same or not.

Stick with the 2geez.... Only use the 3geez for parts that you can swap on your 2gee. :-D

Thats because you're Canadian. The 3rd barrel was for the CVCC system.

There are many shared things between the 2gee and 3gee carbs, but there are more differences than anything.

    Shut up you!

Anyway, there's truth in this. You're best off finding out what particular carb YOU have and going from there. In one specific year, there were different engines, emissions groups and specific market setups availiable. If you look for a carb number, use the car's date of mfg and emissions info (usually on the VECI label on the underside of the hood) and service manual or dealership info you can usually narrow it down.

its funny how everyone has problems with the carb thats on the 3gee. i did about 5 times overdosed did my mate did and the other 8348583458934 people on the site that made the threads about idling problems. even the same carb on a integra GS zc engine managed to somehow fuck up and not work. good luck with the carb

That's why I say get a Weber. I see used ones on Craigslist go for like $150 all the time. I am going to play with the carbs I've got for my 1g, and if they turn out to be a pain in the ass, then I'm going to buy a Weber. Besides it's cooler to say you've got one. :-p

    Re: performance help

has anybody heard of anything being done involving hondas with the weber 34/34 yet? It's the only thing keeping me from springing directly for the 32/36 kit..

    oh, the possibilities.

I'm pretty sure that any of the DGV series of carbs will bolt up to the same adapter plate. The only difference being the size of the hole for the barrels in the carb. Of course there are other differences in the carbs I think, but for the most part from what I've read, they're very similar. If you get a bigger carb than the adapter plate has holes for, just grind them out...

    Re: performance help

i've heard the 38/38 fits as a swap after you've got the 32/36 kit on there. same adapter plate, linkage, etc. i make no promises, though . figure the 34/34 would fit, too, but it seems like a pretty new product.

    i just like the idea.

did get my stock carb off today, finally. now I have to figure out what I'm going to replace it with. what a mess, though. I'm hoping the weber keeps things simple.. from the looks of it, my engine bay has no hope of ever being "clean" - but simple, simple might work.
