    update on my aerodeck

    hey everybody,
here's an update on what I've done on my car since I bought it in januari. that's a long time.. I know
Firstly I would like to appologize for 2 things:
1 for keeping you all in hte dark about my car and abusing this forum
2 for the crappy cell-phone pics.
    I'm sorry you guys
    hope you forgive me
    well,
I bought my aerodeck januari 14th. And I loved it, still do. I drove it to my Honda dealer, where I also work every saterday, and eddie the mechanic changed the timing belt, and all the other belts..
this is what it looked like then

    Isn't she a beaut? *sigh*
well, the previous owner didn't seel to think so, the complete idiot decided to do some diy to the car. appearently he didn't like the lock that opens the trunk. so he janked that out, filled the hole with a sock (I'm ashamed to say that i don't have a picture of that yet) and then put some plaster over it to fill the hole up evenly. then he painted the back end of the car, with a spraycan and scribbled "accord" on the back with a permanent marker. wich made it look like this

    god I hat that guy..
well, that wasn't all, I have a sunroof that must have leaked because the idiot decided to seal it shut with windowsealent, the black mushi stuff that keeps your windshield in place (dunno what it's called) so I pried that open cleaned 2 of the 4 drainage holes, and the roof was fixed.
then I discovered a rusthole on the inside of my fender near the left rear wheel. It was a small hole, about 1 cm in diameter, so I figured that's an easy fix weld in a small patch and "bobs your uncle". I started to poke out the rust with a screwdriver and ended up with this

I cut 2 pieces out so I could weld proparly. but goddamn those were big holes..
you can see that the idiot had did some diy on the left rear fender too in the last pic. I took al look at that, from the hole I cut,it still looked ok no holes there, so I sprayed some tectyl (antirustspray, don't know if you guys know the brand) over it so it won't rot that fast..
I cut 2 pieces of sheet metal, and went "occ" on them, bending cutting welding shouting everything untill they fit. and I'm not a bodyshop man but they fit very well! if I do say so myself.

then I sprayed it with some black bubblespray and Sprayed some tectyl on the inside so rotting was stopped.. for now anyway.

    Re: update on my aerodeck

what else did I do? I installed some fog lights. I'd love to get y hands on some folding fogs. but untill I find some these will have to do. (just a bit to big eh?)

    I like them anyway.
I installed my stereo and speakers, but I made the fatal mistake to order the wrong speakers. as we all know 16,5 cm is maximum in the front doors. I figured 17 cm pioneers were actually 16,5. the weren't, duh me dumb.. drool
    SOOO
I made some mdf speakerholderthings, and now the fit perfectly.
    here's my headunit

and my rear speakers. (not my idea to mount them there, the idiot had already made holes in the shelf, and another shelf is difficult to get..)

    so all is wel
    or is it?
no it wasn't, because te rustdevil came back! and he ate my exhaust, and chewed another 2 holes in my car..

holes in my front right wheel arche

and ofcourse on the other side another hole

well, I replaced the exhaust with a stock oem one (new) and I patched the holes up wit the same procedure as the ones at the rear.
Damnit!! WHY DO OUR CARS HAVE TO RUST?!?!? there's still some that I didn't fix. I'm not going to, that's a job for mister painter..
    this right here..

so what else do I have for you..
    just my engine bay

    freshly cleaned, looks nice huh?

well, what can you expect from me in the near future? hopefully a good contibution to this site, and pics of my new armrest, cupholder and jdm corners installed.
I'm stil on the prowl for a leather interior. so you'll see lots more pics from me and my car..

I might have to buy a new phone or camera..

you may leave your comments/tips/ideas/foul language here

Car looks pretty good for all of the shit you have gone through. Its amazing what some people will do to fix things on their cars and not spend money.

And IMO the pictures arent that bad, thats a pretty good cell camera if you ask me. Good luck with your project, and keep us updated.

engine mods? the only thing now, a green filter in the stock filterbox. that's it.MASSIVE INCREASE IN HP!! not..

I'm keeping it stock, unless I can get my hands on a cheap JDM b20a. I'd love to get my hands on one of those. but I'm not planning anything.

I'll keep on looking for cool oem options. like leather interior, headlightwashers, heated seats, leather steering wheel, cruise control, man I can keep on going. I can dream right? and maybe I'll run into them.
