Anyone actually done HID's??????

Has anyone actually done them in an h4 housing?? I know there is a lot of TALK about it........BUT has any body done them?
I am wanting to buy a Bixenon HID conversion with my Autopal (Hella) h4 housings, and I just wondered if someone has coverted before, or knows someone who has.
It's alot of money, but I think it will be worth every penny.

Wow, no body has actually done HID's???
I guess I will be the ground breaker here then, I am puchasing the kit at the end of the month!

you need to buy the adaptor for the bulb, I used these:

and JB Welded the bolbs to it, then the bulb/adapter fit perfectly to the H4 housing.

Well, the kit I am going to get has the metal reflector deals on the bulbs already. I am doing the bixenon kit for hi/low beams.
Have you done this POS carb??????
Was the light output nice, what housings did you use?

Autopal H4s glass, the bulbs were some cheapos, one is a little blue and the other is pure white. THey're supposed to be 10k, they're more like 6k to me

I should be able to order my kit on the 22nd this month. btw, the kit is 8000.

So u can buy that adaptor and i can put em in my h4 housing and can put hids...i tought u could just buy the h4 kit and plug and play deal...guess not.....so buy that adaptor and then it will work..correct?

color temperature.....
6000= white
8000= blue
10000= violet, ect.

No rendon, you need to get ballast's and ignitors too if you get it piece by piece.

I have the 6000's in my st162, and had the 8000's when i first got the h4 housings, where would i pick up a set of 10000's? how much? will the bulbs fit right into the h4 housings? Im pretty sure i have the same "size" you all have they're just a square glass housing with rubber cub on the back that goes over the main clamp.

a retro fit H4 HID kit from phillips should not run you more than 500 bux or even 600bux. it was 600 bux like two years back. But now it should have dropped down. IF any, i would go with pia or hella H4 conversion housings. Their refractors make lot of difference than the cut back reflectors. But if you can find a good H4 housing that can have good reflectors in the back, it should yield good spread pattern.

i'm still debating on whether or not the buy a $1200 complete kit. comes with starters, ballasts, bulbs, and hella projectors mounted in a housing that looks like 6054's that our cars came with. i think the price will be a little less than $1200, but that was a ball park price so i wouldnt be surprised. i owe it to myself to get them, i do almost all of my driveing at night. i bet those ones POS carb has make some bit of glare. i'd settle for an H4 HID conversion kit using Hella vison plus or E codes.

omg...how come the HID there is super expensive guys?here HID runs to like RM1,200....around USD300 and it came in different shapes...either H4 or watnot..no need conversion holder..and this one is for the good brands one....got mine...6K hid cos here it always rain and anything more than 6k is worse on rainy nites...awesome...

the housings alone are $582 each, i think that's each. has an S after its item number. anyway, yeah, i'd probley do a kit with Hella housings the cut the price way down.

I think you do not wanna go over 8000K It actually loses its brightness then. BMW, Audi, Acura, MB, Volvo, they all use somewhere about 4500K, which is brightest, but if you want some blue ish, go with 6000K. I bought my 5400K HID kit with 9006 bulbs for $210. brand new. But I didn't need to convert my housings, for me it was just plug and play. Also some guys on our forum have done custom Projector fit into their stock headlights, and it worked for them.

i'm looking and comparing kits today. i see a lot of decent ones, but their warrenty policies are something i watch for. if i cant get a good warrenty, its not worth looking at. i looked at some that use McCulloch ballasts. one was a complete kit by Pilot. under $300, but i dont know how good they actually are. i'd be worried about buying something that isnt a complete kit, or one that doesnt fit into the headlight housing. i dont think i want to use the euro projector housings i have with HID. that'd create a crap load of upper glare just from the reflector. there's so many sellers, but its hard to tell which is legit and which is a waste of money. there should be a sticky or something made with comparisons and reccomendations. and links to good sellers of HID kits. that'd be nice to see.

These are Hella bulbs also. And Phillips ballast.
Complete kit.....$359 and change shipped.
This kit is a bixenon kit also, keeps your high beam feature, which alot of retrofit kits are not. Makes it more expensive.
