    idle problem?

    ok so my car has been sittin in a garage for about 6 months...i was in south fla working with family down there and i knew that when i got back my battery would be dead...so i bought a new battery, and replaced the terminals(they were lookin kinda sorry)


    anyways, tha first time i turned it on, it idled at about 2,000 RPM...which is weird cuz its suppose to idle at 1500 if im getting it right...so it idled for a few minutes while i let it warm up, and when i tried to rev it a little bit, tha needle came back toa bout 1500, stayed for 2 seconds and then tha car died...so i turn it back on again and it wont even stay on this timei tried a few more times and nothin...im thinkin its got sumthing to do with idle speed...hopefully...any ideas? sorry for long post...im frustrated...

    If you didn't drain the gas, it's possible your carb. is messed up. Not saying it is for sure, but letting it sit that long can be very hard on the carb. Try some carb. cleaner, change your fuel filter, run some carb. cleaner that you add to the gas tank. Good luck.

    thanks. i actually sprayed carb. cleaner in there and it idled at 1500 for about a minute and came down to about 1000 and finally stayed on i jus have to adjust idle now...

    min usually revs high when the engine is first warming up, then drops down to 1500 ro finish the warming, then to 750.
