Has anyone done 86-87 Goldtop B20a to 88-89 A20a swap

I still need a lot of parts for my B20a. I was just wondering if anyone on here has done the Gold top b20a to the 88-89 lxi swap?? If so please list all of the parts that I will need and any parts that are interchangeable from other cars. This b20a swap is taking wayy longer than I planned

Use the intake manifold from your '88 A20A3 with the injectors and throttle body that came with it. You need the igniter from the prelude also. And you'll need to do some wiring. The pk2 ecu also use 2 oxygen sensors, so you'll either need to add an oxygen sensor to your B20A or convert to 1 oxygen sensor.
Did you get the B20A5 water pump and crankshaft timingbelt cam sprocket and B16/B20A5 cam gears to go with the H23 timing belt?

Nope not yet. I'm trying to get a complete list of everything I need. Then I'm going to take the car with all of the parts I need to a performance shop to get it dropped in. Anything else I might need??

You will need a length of shielded wire for the crank sensor.

That's about it. If you reuse your complete old intake maifold like thegreatdane said, you'll be fine.

not to change the subject or anything, but would the wire be able to pick up any interference from the connection between 2 wires?

Then you will have less problems than I will. I have the gold top from 86-87 b20a and my Honda is 88-89. So I will have to switch more things around to get the gold top 2 work. If your b20 is coming with all ot the accesories it will be a easy swap but mine just basically came with the block and nothing else.

The a20a3 exhaust manifold wont fit. just look at the engines or search, completely different exhaust port spacing...

Not that we dont want to help you, we do, but you'd find yourself asking a lot fewer questions if you read through some of the b20a threads sticky and howto/faq. That goes for a couple of other members too.

no, not off hand. and i don't think i have a caliper either to measure it. but eyeballing it, it doesn't look that much bigger than stock, maybe 3 mm bigger at the most. maybe you can find out on www.cb7tuner.com

edit: went on cb7tuner and apparently the f22 tb is 57 mm. however, the prelude h22/h23a1 manifold is a bolt-on improvement for them at 60 mm (or 62 mm, that wasn't really clear), so it should also bolt on to us.

Actualy I did search dude. Its bits and pieces of information all over the place. The reason I'm asking so many questions is I just got the B20a block with no accesories. Had I have known that I would have never even bothered to buy it. I just feel we need to get all the info from bare block to finish in one place because I know more members will be doing this swap. For me it has taken me a while because if all the parts I need but I hope it will be worth it in the end. I want to say thanks to you personally cause you have answered a lot of my questions. Now 1 more question what headers willl work??

the A20 hearder will NOT work on the B20.....the only ones are like the b20 lude ones...but even then you will need to figure out something with the downpipe and everthing.

No problem. And I do agree that some of the info might be a bit spread out, so it takes a while to find the answers.

The B20A5 prelude header is the closest fit, almost bolt-on iirc, you should ask twoloudnproud about the excact details since I think he is the latest person to have installed a not already modded B20A5 header.
But I dont think anyone has used a stock B20A5 cast iron exhaust manifold if you were thinking of going cast iron and not a header, but your chances that it fits are good I'd say.

An H22A header can also me modified to fit but involves cutting and welding it and rerouting the downpipe. I'd only recommend for the more experienced people doing that.
