    Question MR7 fit

hey yo, the Motegi MR7's are universal fit right? so i can fit either a 4 nut, or 5 nut car in those rims correct?

and 17' should go into any car without problems right?

If you get the rims with 8 holes (the ones you need) you will have 4x100(the one you need), and 4x114(right?? )

I didnt really understand your question, but the Mr7s, (along with most rims) make 8 hole (4x100, and 4x114( ), along with 10 hole rims, I have no idea what the measurements are for the 10 holes....So, but the ones with 8 holes, in a 42mm offset, and youre set

Make sure you get them in 40mm offset (NO LESS!!!) or 42mm offset.

Offset describes the relationship between the the hub (where the wheel bolts up to the car) and the inside or outside of the fender, in really ruf terms.

Here's an example to show you what it means. Let say 40mm is the perfect offset for you. If you see a rim that has 35mm offset that rim will be 5mm closer to the outside of the car or 5mm closer to the fender lip. Now with a 45mm offset rim, that rim is 5mm closer to the inside of the car, or 5mm further away from the fender lip.

Discount tire has a explanation of offset in their FAQ customer service area.

i didn't even know what MR7's were. i just looked through a catelog, i saw some nice motegi rims, so i just chose it. heh, somehow, by some twist of fate, i got the exact same rims as my buddy. and i didn't even know it was a 7 spoke rim!

hmm.... i just wanted to know if it would fit any kind of car like honda's, ford's (yah right, like i'll ever get one), toyotas, nissans, etc... since most company's have 5 nut lugs for their wheels and honda has 4 nut lugs for their wheels.

My comments on what wheel offset to get is drawn off comments like this one and my own experiences. You've pretty much confirmed that I'm on the right track, thanks man With 40mm offset you comment should be able to say "they don't run at all".

    Smartass

Just to clear up my statement, GET 40 OR 42mm IF YOU CAN!

BUT, if you are in a situation to get rims you want and they are 38mm, dont worry they dont rub alot. By alot I mean enough to anoy you, my mom has driven my car on several occasions, and she had nothing bad to say about "Those damn wheels you spent too damn much money on". Belive me, if it was bad she would have stabbed me in the neck for wasting money...

Come on now, you know your mom ain't gonna corner hard enough to make'em rub

It's my job to recommend the set-up that is worry free. Occasional rubbing is not something I can recommend. I just don't see how I can add a recommendation to my list where I say they will rub a little, it should never do it. And I'd hate for someone to get them only to find out that they can't tolerate the rubbing like you can. Even if they were warned beforehand.

$225 for 4 17-inch rims AND tires?!!?!? Are you serious?! If you are, then HOOK ME UP!!! ...if they are nice rims... I thought I was looking at $200 for 17 inch TIRES, let alone rims... I was thinking of like $800 for rims.

yah, the usual price for all 4 rims and tires are around $1200 (well, thats in canadian dollar over here). but i know an investor at one of the local auto shops near my house and we got to talking and stuff. i'm doing some autobody work for him so he paid half of what he offers for his friends. $200 plus extra $25 shipping insurance. he gave me this rim and tire catelog and i ended up choosing the MR7's and the Toyo Proxes FR4 or somethin like that.

thing is, i dunno if he can give anymore offers. cuz he just pulled his ownership out of this shop since his co-owner was being a bitch and charging customers 3 times the price of auto parts, so until he invests in another one at another part of town, i'm not sure if he can do anything for anyone yet.

The Motegi MR7s are a nice-looking wheel. Sears seems to have them on sle from time to time. I believe that they are actually made by Anerican Racing.

You'll probably need to get the hub rings to make sure they fit and check the offset, too.
