what do you mean, slap it right on the intake itself? cause if you want a cheap ass intake, just do like i did to free up air before i make a chrome intake, 3" pvc, a 45 degree elbow, and two 3" to 2" plumbing convertors, and black spay enamel, it hasnt melted yet

There is a K&N for the stock intake box if you want that.
If you are talking about the mushroom type, then you'll need the piping as well.
