Just got done with these backlight sockets. You need 4 + THE ONE FROM THE FRONT SENDER, but I made 3 extra for Mykwikcoupe.

THE TOTAL PROJECT CALLS FOR 5 (10MM LED'S) AND 17 (5MM LED'S), SO 22 TOTAL, PLUS WHATEVER ELSE I DECIDE TO PUT IN...
IT FEELS LIKE I'VE BEEN WORKING ON THESE FOREVER, THERE ARE SO MANY STEPS IN MAKING THESE FROM TOTAL SCRATCH. 19 TOTAL, 6 ARE EXTRAS.
THESE 10MM LEDS ARE BEHIND THE CLUSTER AND THE 5MM LED'S ARE IN FRONT OF THE CLUSTER.

Ok, be ready to shit yourself, I haven't even sanded the led's yet and they are way brighter than what the picture shows. I haven't even put all of the led's in it either!! LMAO!! It's so bright and it's not even finished, I'm getting excited! I even took the picture with the kitchen lights on! I will be trying to finish this tomorrow.
I'm sure someone is going to say something about it not being lit up balanced or bright enough, but it's not finished!

dude, ur a beast
you can certainly see that you have lights missing. looks about the same as blown incans.
one question i have is will this work with the illumination controller? IIRC, the illumination controller is just a voltage regulator, so i'm thinking you'll be able to dim it a bit if need be, then your voltages will just drop off to the point where the LED won't light up. if that's the case, what about an add-on PWM illumination controller?
dude, i just totally rubbed one off.
I cant wait ot get a full pic. I love the blue. itll match my eclipse deck great. great job so far
i think maybe the reason it looks dim in places is due to the green plastic that comprises the spedometer and tachometer. i intended to change all my dash lights to white, but found it impossible to change the color of the backlighting through the guages (it'll still be awkward greenish with poor diffusion thanks to the plastic)
if you can convert the entire unit to glow white, i would be more than happy to send you 100$ or whatever your new price is. without cutting and molding new plastic pieces for the guages, i fear this can't be done though
let me know your thoughts. obviously you've spent tons more time with that cluster unit than i have
edit: you can use a clock from an 88 civic to turn the clock white (i think that was the year, if you're really curious ask me again and i'll look it up). takes a little bit of sawing your dash and soldering a new harness, but it was easy enough in my opinion. link to pic

and the little light that shines on the part where it tells you what doors are open...
old picture, i already have it mounted and ready to go.
These 2 x 3mm blue led sockets go on the far right and far left tops of the cluster as you can see in the picture. These pack a punch for just little guys!

Pictures don't quite show the brightness, but you can use your imagination...

And what kind of price are you lookiong at if someone were to send you a cluster?
After i'm done with the project, I'll have a good idea on how much time will be needed to do this.Originally Posted by LiTtLe xOx BitT
From here on out, I'm not using the bulb sockets, it's too much work when I can just solder an led to the circuit board 100 times faster. That will cut down on my labor, and your final price. I've become an expert with these gauges over the passed week, and I could tell you exactly what every part is for. I will be doing my gauges here shortly and they will be 5 times brighter than project I am working on.
Heres some half done pictures...
They are actually brighter than the pictures show...

It is hard to get the lights to show on cmera but man they sure do look nice at night. Theyre just so bright and crisp looking.
I haven't sanded them yet. Plan on doing it though, because that should take care of the dim spots.
Man that looks fucking awesome!!!! Thought im not really digging the blue im sure i would change my mind if i saw it in person. Anyways dumb question but what other colors would you be able to do besides blue?
Coming soon, wheels, drop, carbon fiber and if i ever decide, paint.

I sanded all the led's flat and it looks alot better!
Finished sanding the leds, they are so beautiful in real life! This is what it's final state is! I'm proud what I accomplished! They are twice as bright in real life! My [power wire was in front of the tachs zero btw.
