    Got a Civic Air Box

well i've seen many of the other members with them on their cars. i've been looking for one, but they are always gone off the car already when i've looked. but i finally found one and bought it. found it to be too tall to fit under the hood though. i first cut the hole bigger to fit on the kehin. fit well and all with some mods, but still too tall. so i cut the bottom of the box off. i cut a piece of plastic from the silencer box thingy that was under the fender on the civic to make a new platform. i'm going to see about using the plastic welder we have in my body shop class to make it strong. otherwise, i can use something else. maybe like some expoxy or JB weld, something to that effect if i cant get the plastic welder to work on this. i plan to polish the top piece of the air box out too. then i need to work on the intake pipe and filter setup. i got the complete intake system from the civic, so i can modify it any way i can to work. i could use a intake pipe routed somehow with a filter at the end. that would be easiest, but i'd rather have a quieter intake box like you'll find on newer cars. but with a better flowing design. i'll take some pix of what i'm doing when i get to working on it again.

Re: Got a Civic Air Box

well, i had already started hacking up the air box. its going to more or less be unchanged from the lid down, except for the base which i'm making. i used the plastic from that air box thingy under the fender because its plastic that doesnt melt under high heat, like ontop of the carb. i'll probably be working on that this week and post up some pix. if anyone would like to post a pic in this thread, go ahead. i'm up for idea's and what not for this project.
