Question 3rd gen carburated engine performance?

i have the basic 2bbl A20A. it definately could use some upgrades. i am thinking on going with a bullfrog cylinder head, camshaft, and sprockets. then for the other internals like pistons, rods and crank shaft i want to go with raceeng.com to make me some of that stuff. does anyone know if someone else makes ready made parts for this engine because i will have to send in sample parts of what is listed above to these two company

hmm some people on the board would not recomend BULLFROG.
even though it is a good package... if the quality of work is poor your better off doing each of those mods seperately.

Bulffrog stuff isn't ready made... You'll have to send in your CORE... Core being the head and cam thats from your car. If you want you could find a spare head and cam in the junk yard... try and pull a set from the same year, fuel type (carb or EFI), and transmission type.

just get weber and start working from there. weber gives you most performance for a buck.

how much performance does a weber give you?? i was thinking about working my car up for a good old tank of zex, seems like more bang for the buck then the weber carb.

yeah, but offten are you gonna hit zex. are you gonna run on it or you will use it one in a while?
lets see, A20A1 has weber and he has auto, and he said he can burn tires with it, or at least used to. how imagine what it can do with 5 speed?

yeah i have a 5 speed, i was only gonna use the zex in high speed races and maybe pop it once in a while if i wanna fuck with someone in a much faster car, i was gonna pop 45 shots. i took out the pan style air filter and custom fitted short ram intake, im guessing it will work since a20a1 did the same.

hey dutchaccord, i am not sure what kind carb you have, but before you start searching for the carb, try to find the adapter for it.
can you post the pictures if your carb?
have you ever took it out?

k so u say bullfrog is no good? and wat did u mean that its has poor quality work? do u mean that it is not durable. i just want something that will give me some noticable power increase. they told me that the cylinder head will give me around 58hp and cam 26hp. maybe they are bull shitting. i think the other internals by raceeng.com will be quality work cuz they do everything to perfect or almost perfect specs. that is wat ive herd. ive seen dragracing crx's with stuff from bullfrog. stock engine and all. so i dont know. i need an opinion form someone that has had parts from bullfrog. please tell me wat u thank. i dont want to make any costly mistakes.

I would have to see your car and or a carburetor gasket... preferably the one that sits between the intake manifold and the carburetor. I'm curious to see what your intake runners look like?

his is european... most european hondas get a sportier look and engine... but I guess him having a carb throws that idea out the window.

hey well i saw wut someone did by flipping the air lid. i definately gained some power that i can feel. now its time for the K&N filter. the only thing that sucks is the price of one. ive got a speed shop that will send order and install my parts when im ready to get them. they are mostly obsessed with late 80s and early 90s mustangs. they do some bad ass work on them. i have seen the final product in action so they apperntly know wut they is doing. plus they said they will give me a break in the price since i have spread their name around my city.
