what is the pipe callled that runs from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold? what is it's use, and what would happen if it was removed?
stupid question, i know, but maybe someday it'll all add up.

I've moved on to bigger and better things. 94 integra Gsr Sedan is my new ride. And theres big things coming for it.
thats your egr tube and if it were to be removed you would have a big exhaust leak its for emissions
thx. all i needed to know lol

you can delete it, but you will probably flunk visual inspection on emmissions testing. Just cut the pipe 2 inches from the manifold fitting and roll the end like a toothpaste tube, lots of hammering, welding optional.
All it does is vent fresh air into the exhaust pipe in between cylinder firing. I believe the purpose of this is to make the catalytic more efficient (or to cheat on emmissions tests!) . It runs on a reed valve setup under a certain RPMs...

The egr also known as Exhaust gas recirculation system is supposed to dilute the fuel-air mixture to lower the NOx production under combustion.
