    anyone replace a clutch cable?

My clutch kinda sucks(its been replaced 3,000 miles ago with a crappy napa one), it grabs all the way at the end of the pedal and when i try to shift fast it has bad lag(which i think has to do with the fork... wouldn't hurt to replace that either) so i already bought the cable and looked at the haynes and it looks easy in the book but when i looked in my car the top of the pedal seems to be well in the dash pretty good, haven't atempted it yet just seeing if anyone has done it and give me a few pointers. What i'm afraid is that i think that i'll be burning out clutches cause its not engaged all the way.

And i know this is in the wrong section, i don't have enough privelages to put in the engine transmission section sorry....
