The check engine lite comes on in My 89 lxi accord, EFI, however, there is no loss of power but there is this pop corn sound that seems to be coming from the throttle body area and when I'm coasting down hill the the RPMS goes up and down. The strange thing is that when the car is stationary and I step on the gas the engine sounds normal.Also my gas milage is a little lower
Got any suggestions?

check under the seat...at the computer...pull up the flap and it still tell you a code then check it.

check the wires around the connector first.
If they look Good, replace the valve.

I have a brand new IAC still in the Honda Box!! It will run ya $105 shipped but I may trade if you some something I like. PM Me!
In the 4th Gens, IAC would build up gunk overtime and cleaning them definately helped the idle. I would first remove it and shoot some carb cleaner down in and see if that helps. But like Shepherd says, check the wire connector first (it right there by the TB and I believe has a 2-wire connector going to it).
