well for basic performance you can put headers, cold air intake, upgrade your spark plugs and wires, plus we have other parts can also give you performance like stiping the interior out.

you can try an array of gearing options from the 3g accord in the different trim levels, the a18 tranny (but you'll need a18 flywheel too), or the 1g teg gears. you can do a b16/b18c5 im, but that needs to be slightly modified to fit so it might lose the stock appearance. if you do want stock appearance, get an 88/89 im and everything to make it work properly. it might not help you that much, though, if you don't rev a lot. you can try the 88/89 style 4-2-1 exhaust manifold if you're running an 86/87. you can get a reground cam to create a nice powerband. apparently a delta cam grind will run you around $60 after you provide a core. although if yours is an experimental grind as opposed to a standard one, they might hit you up for that. you can gut your interior and stuff. maybe open up the door panels and remove some of the side impact bars if they have any. remove the bumper and just put the cover back on. get a carbon fiber hood, although our hoods aren't that heavy. but some other fellow showed up a few weeks ago with the exact same question. and we really can't answer until we know what exactly the rules are for your venue. obviously, a cai and headers aren't stock, but are they allowed? stuff like that is what we need to know. can you remove the seats? run w/ a 1/4 tank to save weight. and so on and so forth.

no vtec for you, my friend. at least not w/ the a20. but if you want vtec, this is your thread: https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56800
and if you pick them up, DON'T FORGET TO MAKE CAD DRAWINGS/COPIES. THAT'S THE LAST KNOWN SET EVER MADE. but be leery about putting in vtec. putting in vtec will boost yoru power, sure. but make sure it's what you want to do. it may boost you into another class that you may qualify for w/ the hp numbers but do horrible in because all the other cars handle better than you.

you can use 84-87 prelude upper control arms that have adjustable camber...so you set it up...at your own taste

if you want a power boost, you can do an obd-1 conversion. that'll help you tune it for your mods. you can get a lightened flywheel from clutchnet. since single cam is the order of business, no vtec for you for sure unless you build your own head (good luck w/ that). i already told you about the tranny tricks, cams, intake. p & p could get you a bit more power. bore out your block to maybe .040 over and give yourself an edge with torque.
