my friend had a 85 se-i and he got it up to 115 mph. very solid car for its age.

well being that my engine has 88HP stock. well with the carb I have in it now maybe 45HP it can do 107. with a new weber in there I might be able to pull 125 or 130.

My Build Thread
In my 85 1.8 Auto, in the late '90's when it was last on the road it manged 110-115 mph IIRC.
My 84 does about 105-107mph on a long flat stretch in 5th gear. That was all stock. Does about the same with the Weber on stock jetting.
I can wind it up to 110 in 4th gear, but I don't like cruising at 4500rpm. It will cruise at 105 just fine in 5th without the motor screaming.
I found out the hard way that the weber don't fit on my A16A1 engine. so i had to order one from the dealer who has to import one from japan. plus my accelerator diaphragm is messed so i needed to get one as well. I hate having a rare engine.
put in an a20 then run a webber....you can find them cheap at the junkyard.Originally Posted by Holy^ghost

Yeah I hate to say it, but you've probably got the rarest Accord engine. So you wound up ordering the Weber and trying it out?
If you've still got the Weber, just fab up an adapter plate out of paper and go to your local shop. They'd probably make you one for less than $50. Just trace out a square plate that you can bolt to the manifold. Then place the Weber on the square you made and trace out the holes in the carb and an elongated hole around the throttle bodies and you're set. Hell, I'll come up there and help you make one... I guess assuming you've still got the Weber. If you sent it back already, the factory one will work just fine.

That does sound rare, and I wonder why the A20 weber adadtpers wont work, why would they do that to us.
My 86 did 100 before I did mods, going downhill on interstate, I Have not tryed it since.
Our cars ARE made to go fast Cheeseburger, why would they put 130 on teh speedometer, why why why
Well back when I had my 86 DX I got it up to about 120MPH. Kinda scary though in that car.. As for my current car I've reached 180 KM/h. I know it's kinda slow, but my speedo only goes to 180. It can go faster though. My RPM's were only at about 4500 or 5k.
84 Lx stock everything 110 MPH
03 EX Accord, all stock, 126 MPH ;-D

Yes i have the rarest accord engine ever. BTW i sent back that weber and ordered a 3 barrel carb from the dealer. the only after market carb for the engine I have. ohh and does the a20 have the same mounts as the A16A1 and yes canada has junk yards. could I put a fuel injected A20A1 into my car or would i have to change the tank aswell.
A20A1 is carbed A20A3/4 are FI
I don't know if your mounts will work or not, but I would assume your mounts would bolt right up to the A20 engine. The ES2 mounts bolt up to the A20 engine.
You don't need a new tank, what you need is to run a return fuel line, replace all your old lines with high pressure fuel injected lines, and get an 85 SE-i fuel pump or any other fuel-injection pump.
The whole A20 process has been done by PhydeauX. He's the man. He did the Dual-Weber route though. So you'll have to combine the A20 swap info, with some of the carb to fuel injection how-tos here. But as far as swaps go, it should be straightforward. I believe your transmission will bolt right up to an A20 as well, so no messing with axles and splines if you don't want to.
If the A16 mounts won't work for some reason, I'm sure we could get you the ES2 mounts, and those would work in your car just fine.
Everything I know about this stuff though is just from reading on this site and a tiny bit of external research. So take anything I say lightly, and double check me. PhydeauX knows for sure, as he's actually done the A20 swap.
that will be of great help when i gain accsess to my schools autoshop next semester. and ill send pics of my enigne. but i dont know how much different looking it is from the 1.8 I can't find pics of the ES2 engine. can one fo you guys give me a link to a website or take pics of your engine so i can compare the differences
