    Exclamation Axis OG-san

i wasnt really looking for new rims, but i've just found these wheels. they are very old school and cool looking. i think they would be very fitting to the 3gee. the brand is Axis, model OG-san. i've looked on web searches and on the Axis site, but nada. i guess they are so new that they arent really out yet? anyways, went and checked out specs and pricing today. they will come out in 15x7 and be in the colors you see in the pix i've taken. they will be about $180+ each. i was told i would have to be put on a waiting list for them, any chance at getting them soon is going to be the end of january. but damn, they are some i'd really want. i'ma start saving for them. hopefully they will also be in 16's, but with my luck they wont. but yeah, i think if by the time they are available i will go ahead and buy them. only thing is i cant decide what color to go with. probably not the gold/bronze because my car is gold (champagne beige).

P.S. OG stands for Original Goods

those wheels would change your cars appearance totally. very top dollar looking. IMO, i think all axis wheels i've seen in person look of high quality and design.

    Re: Axis OG-san

so, y'all think the OG-san is a good choice. i'm trying to go old school, but new at the same time. i still cant decide if i'd get rid of my 17's. dont think i will since i spent money out of my pocket for em and wont get close to what they are worth. plus, sometimes 17's are nice, but those OG-sans are hot.

    Re: Axis OG-san

hey i was thinking, the OG-san looks pretty light weight. now, when i compare my acceleration when i have my 17's on compared to my 14's or 13's, there is a noticeable difference. maybe because of diameter and weight difference. with tires, the 13's are 27lbs, 14's are 34lbs, the 17's 42lbs. also my top speed is affected. 17's allow me to get to about 110mph, the 13s or 14s i can get up to 120+, and alot more easily. i really am more about light weight too. definately saves a bit of fuel running my 13's over the 17's. i really really want these wheels!

    Re: Axis OG-san

you can have 17" light weigh wheels but they still will rub power. it is all about centrifugal force. the bigger the wheels the more power it takes to rotate them and it take a lot more energy to stop them too.
So if oyu have 17" rims you should have at least upgraded your brakes.

actually, i havent had any problems braking. well as long as i know what i'm doing. say i'm comming off the freeway about 90 and need to get to 50 real quick, not a problem, but 90 to 0 i'll get fade like a mofo with whatever size wheels i run. i dont want to run the larger brakes up front though since i still want to run the 13's sometimes. i'm thinking i'll get some drilled rotors sometime soon though. mainly for looks, but more so for less fade out from long braking. also, upgrading to rear disks. but keeping stock 86-87 fronts size.

    Re: Axis OG-san

    sweet^ thanks

checked the link out. but i want to go no bigger than a 16 inch. i like my 17s but they are a bitch to drive on with 40 sidewalls. the 15's would be more convenient to find tires for and cheaper over all.

well i want something that if it breaks i can easily and quickly replace. i think the 86-87 front brakes have potential to work much better with drilled rotors. only drawback is they may crack, but that would be a chance i'd take. i'm going to start looking for some of those. remember i still want to run 13 inch rims.

I like those mesh wheels, and for the price thats not bad... and axis does make some pretty good wheels.

And to the guy wanting the 3" lip wheels... you will not get 3" lip on a fwd offset.

    Re: Axis OG-san

so, i'm still thinking of buying those Axis wheels. i'd probably go with the silver ones. anyway, i dunno wheather to sell my 17's or maybe just keep them. they are pretty nice and i wont be able to sell them for as much as i've paid. might finally sell my jetta and then get the wheels. i estimate to spend somewhere around $800-$1000 on the wheels and tires. the reason i really want these wheels is because they are smaller and can have a larger side wall than my 17's. the streets here where i live are hell on rims, so thats an issue. i'm also supposed to be getting a job here soon so i can easily pay for stuff like this. but yeah, i want new smaller rims and these are just right for my 3gee.

those ones on the civic are similar, but not quite the same as the work equip 03's. they do have a striking resemblance, but if you look they are different. i didnt find work to make any like the Og-San, only axis. anyways, those are what i'm set on. maybe like at the end of the summer or begining of winter. i dunno. i might also be trying to get a newer car so i might have to put off new wheels for the accord.
