Here it is a year later and I have the same problem. The only change is that the car now sometimes won't come off hight idle (about 2500 rpm) and other times it drops to 250 rpm when stoping or with the clutch in and the motor usually dies. Any ideas?

I am new to the forum and would appreciate some help. My 87 Accord LX won't idle below about 1200 RPM. I had a bad choke pull off and after replacing it and turning down the idle (I had it turned up previously to compensate for the bad pull off) I noticed the problem.
I have new plugs, cap and rotor. Any ideas?
The car also has a problem where it stumbles at about 12 and 18 mph if I am driving at that speed, but it does fine if I am accelerating thru those speeds. I was told it might be my spark plug wires, but I swapped these out one at a time and the problem continued. The plugs are getting spark and when I changed them recently they all looked to be burning correctly. Thanks.
