DIY:Rear 10.2" rotors and calipers (Bolt on Mod)

Just ran into some problems and found out this will not work. I have a couple more tricks up my sleeve and I will let you know how this all works out. One more time this dosent work if you read through the thread you will figure out the problem. Click this link for a fix to the problem.

    • 1987-90 Legend Coupe or 1989-1990 sedan rear calipers.
    • 1987-90 Legend Coupe or 1989-1990 sedan rear brake pads
    • 2002 - 2003 Civic SI Hatchback rear 10.2" rotors (THEY MUST BE 4X100)
    • 1988-1989 Accord Se-i rear hubs and spindle

all you have to do is bolt the disks on then bolt the calipers on. No modification is required to the disk or calipers. You will have to bend the dust shield a slight bit to allow for the larger caliper. Here are the mock up pics without pads, but I will get some better shots once I get the hubs installed on the car with pads in them.

Old rotor on the left new one on the right.

Looking good, nice job Legend Master. Now go get the money shot with the 260mm disc setup next to the old 239mm disc setup
If you are in europe you need the discs from a 2001-2005 Civic EP1/2/4.

Here you go, The real difference is the size between the Legend caliper piston and the Accord caliper piston. The legend is much bigger, and with these rotors you dont have to modify the caliper to make it fit.

Send me some . I have to get the bushings replaced on the rear hubs, buy some EBC pads, go get some brand new Legend calipers, and maybe get some Drilled and slotted rotors for the rear suspension. When all that is done I will install it onto the car and take better pics.

You could use your SE-i calipers/Pads with Legend brackets and the 10.2" rotors, but the pads will not cover the whole rotor. Would dissipate the heat, but wear the rotor down kind of oddly. There are a wealth of aftermarket rotors for the EP3 civic, but i didnt want to pay all that money to find out if they worked or not. So now that I know I will spend the money on them.

Yep you can use the SE-i lines, and I am running type R calipers with redrilled legend rotors. My next experiment will be Corrado rotors on the front. If they line up well with the type R calipers then the 11" upgrade will be a direct bolt on mod.

are these the legend calipers withlegend brackets on the sei hub with bigger rotor?
Are the calipers bolted on because they look like they are spaced out to far.

yes they are legend calipers with legend brackets and se-i hubs and they looked spaced out because the pad goes all the way to the hub not the caliper. In that picture I posted the caliper is not connect, it is just placed there. When I bolted it down the caliper was moved a slight bit closer to the hub. check out the pictures i posted of the legend brake setup on post #10.
