    Altentor, or somthing else

I just bought my '89 accord lxi. The altenator light is on and the car will start once , revs at about 2 grand and when u shut it down theres no power to start the car again. is it weird that my car will start the first time andf not again or is it just the altentor?

check if your batt is charged but it sounds like an alternator problem.

Alternator is shot. Computer is freaking out revving it up because of the lack of voltage.

it was a new battery when i got it and droe it home was the first time it was really in use. yeah mine starts fine with a jump.. but would yours start at all without a jump like i started it last night w/o a jump and it would only once now it started today w/o a jump once.

mine started w/o a jump but stalled right away, then had to crank it for about 3 seconds for it to start again properly without stalling.. maybe if you replace the alt. it might go away?

It might be charging intermittently or just a little bit. It's still not working right by the sounds of it.

Check all connections on the battery posts and cables to/from.
    (include alternator connections)
If you have access to a volt meter that would be a big help to diagnose.

check the starter wires and i think its a solenoid making problem i had same problem the wire came out so check the wire or try to start the car directly from the starter.i hope u know how to start the starter from inside the hood directly.
